House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is "un-American."

The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as "very, very patriotic."

"Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?" Pelosi told a mostly Hispanic gathering at St. Anthony's Church in San Francisco.

I agree it is un-American.

We should send the parent away and let them take their families with them. That way there isn't as much incentive for the parent to sneak back into the country.

I also suppose she'll say that its un-American to keep the Mexican drug cartels out of our country too. Especially after they shootout that took place close to border recently. I look at them coming into our country illegally no differently than an enemy at war time coming into our country. Its an invasion.

The problem with our government is the way it has evolved and the power structures that have ensued. No longer is there one of our peers going to Washington to represent us. Rather we have a career minded person going to Washington, and working to be placed on committees, gain power and influence. Then it becomes a game of whomever is in power wields that power for their own agenda. We the people for the most part are left out of the process.

Is there anyone in Washington dumber than this woman?

In the country, even?

Kicking in doors in the middle of the night?

When did the INS ever kick in doors in the middle of the night to tear parents from their children?

Why is it necessary to make up horror stories to push their agenda?

Illegal immigrants do not have the right to vote.
When you remove proof of citizenship and only require an 'afadavit' ascerting on your own word or signature that you are eligible as a citizen, and proof of residency as simple as a postal address and a utility bill, then practically anyone can get registered.

The vote may not be legally a right in this case...... but it has about as much validity as Obama's word that he's qualified by the Constitution to be our president without submitting proof that his birth took place in Hawaii. Likewise, a challenge to those votes can be about as difficult to prove..... unless one's in a position to have inside knowledge......such as participating and self-incrimination in signing up ineligibles, (dare I mention ACORN, and its lack of scruples, where incomes are earned by numbers registered....not by qualification).
