Brother Dr. Rev. Lowery: //Ed I didnt mean to sound
like you made me sound
all I am saying is we cant all be right someone has to be wrong.//
1. Sorry if I miss-sounded you. But I was up to my
eyeballs in preperation/execution of my Deacon/Widow
Christmas Fellowship AKA: Widow/Deacon Christmas Banquet.
So I didn't have time last week to dot the 'i's,
cross the 't's, and issue the caveats.
But now I have a little more time
so may look into what I said in haste earlier. Sorry
if any such writing tromped all over you. I like to (as a
general principle) step easy on Brother Doctor Reverends.
In fact, you will find elsewhere on the board I'm exceptionally
generours to Sister Dr. Dr. Reverend Mioque. Yes, she has
two Doctors and is in charge of THE BUILDING (not the men)
of a major Church in Holland. I think the English word
for this is 'Rector'. And you?
2. As for: // ... all I am saying is we cant all be right someone has to be wrong.//
I respectfully disagree. There is a third, usually correct
alternative: 'None of us can be right'.
And there is a fourth, sometimes correct alternative:
everybody is right. So you posit a false dilemma.
I'm more interested in studying how other people are
right as well as I am right.
Brother Dr. Rev. Lowery: //Confusion is wrong and
confusion is not of God.//
You are correct. The Bible says:
1Co 14:33 (KJV1769 Edtion with Strong's numbers):
For1063 God2316 is2076 not3756
the author of confusion,181 but235 of peace,1515
as5613 in1722 all3956 churches1577 of the3588 saints.40
Obviously here 'confusion' is the opposite of and
is contrasted with 'peace'. Both words have multiple
meanings. The simplest meaning is that 'peace' means
'no tumult' and 'confusion' means disodrderly.
In my church there is scheduled-in-the-bulletin
welcome time. Everybody wanders around the church
huggin' and shaking hands and greeting and etc.
This is quite confusing, especially if you have hearing
aids on IF 'CONFUSING' means 'bewildering'.
But i don't see we are doing anything wrong.
I've been in Trinitarian Pentacostal meeting where they
had a similiar time for each person there who wishes to
to have a personal talk with God - all talking at the
same time - but that time is limited and scheduled.
If you aren't through yet when the piano begins to play,
get through quickly and sit back in your seat.
There is nothing wrong with this. Even if a person wants
to talk to God in tongues. Each is a private conversation
(just all at the same time) with God. There is no need to
interpert each person's words with God (just as there is
no need for each persons' greeting each other needs to
be done one-at-a-time).
Now, if someone speaks in tongues to the whole church
assembly, it must be done only two, maybe three and
MUST BE INTERPERTED into the eartly languages that
are needed for the local church.
Strongs says of the Greek Word translated:
'the author of confusion'
G181
ἀκαταστασία
akatastasia
ak-at-as-tah-see'-ah
From G182; instability, that is, disorder: - commotion, confusion, tumult.
