Has anyone ever witnessed this illustration? I have. A young eagle, unable to sustain flight and the mother eagle comes in under the young to carry and support its weight to a solid ground, this continues until the young eagle is strong enough to fly itself.4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
at vs. 4 is the picture of God's Grace carrying his people to himself; after is the declaration of the people that they are now strong enough to 'fly' of their own; thus rejecting the covenant of Grace and bringing about the covenant of Law which they cannot fulfill except they do so by the Grace of God.5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
Romans 12:1 ¶I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.Grace provides faith "For to EACH ONE is given a measure of faith" Romans 12.
