The word of God IS not the bible. Jesus is the word of God. The BIBLE is not the word of God. You can find the word of God IN IT.
The guys you read in the bible....talk about word of God they are not talking about the book your holding, they are talking about Jesus Christ and the gospel.
GOSPEL, BIBLE, WORD OF GOD. those are three different things. SUPRISE we use 3 words for each. Else why even use the word bible and not just word of GOD.
THINK ABOUT IT! Why even use the word bible? Because there is a difference. Use the noggin.

How do you tell which is and which is not?

No I'm trying to improve your reading comprehension. WORDS can be SAID, words can be written, words can be exchanged with smoke signals.
For some people its WOOOSH over their head and they believe WORD can only and must mean WRITTEN.

Bible means "BOOKS"
Scripture does not mean Word.
If you SAY something out loud that's a WORD too you know but that is not scripture.
GOSPEL means "GOOD NEWS"
Gospel is not a magic word. You can walk around with good news all the time. THE GOOD NEWS is Jesus Christ.
Every time you run into a "BIBLE WORD" one shouldn't freak out and give it over the top significance. Like the word FAITH just means trust and confidence.
So for you the living word is Christ.
The Word of God made flesh (John 1:14) is now the word of God somewhere in a book.
Word=word.
And the living word is only in parts of the bible.

The lowest common denominator is the Christian. He's the letter written in the heart.

You yourself are "THE WORD OF GOD" in a sense, because you can preach it and follow it.
Well that is comforting but non-sensical to me.
You have a hint of what kind of sinner I am although, not proud of it.
The bible is the word of God to me and has the words of God to you as I understand what you have written in this thread.
They are not alive because you and I are alive.
They are alive because they are alive or the verses that say they are alive are lies (alie sounds a little like alive).
And the verses do not say certain words of God are alive.
The word of God is quick...

I agree w/ this, at that time. But today we still have God’s inspired Words preserved for us. Bible says the Words are quick (living) and powerful (effectual). Since we still have the preserved Words, it’s still alive. In a book. Which gave you the Words to know what to speak and how you’ve learned about the Good News.
And Peter called Paul's writings scripture so there were some of the new testament writings flowing around new testament writers.
... Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him
hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles,
speaking in them of these things;
in which
are some things hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and unstable
wrest,
as they do also the other scriptures,
unto their own destruction.
2 Peter 3:15b-16
So the Apostle Peter called Paul's writings scripture:
"all his epistles" comparing them to "the other scriptures"
but did Peter say only the word of God within Paul's writings is scripture?
No.
He said "all his epistles" are scriptures.
So then complete books are scripture not just several words or passages within them.
If complete books are scriptures and all scripture is inspired then it is possible to say, at least for Paul's writings and Peter's unnamed other scriptures, that entire books in the bible can be inspired.

Well, the life of God by way of His Spirit through His Son. It is no coincidence that the word translated "word" is also who the Son is, John 1:1. And that not any thing is caused apart from God's Son, John 1:3, And everything is maintained by His Son, Hebrews 1:2-3. Now the given written word and the Son are not the same thing. But the Son is the source.
The word of God is of two types.
Natural revelation, Psalms 19:1-4, Romans 10:17-18. All the laws of physics, etc. Man's study of it we call science.
And what we will call special Revelation, which gives us our Bible. In the words of Jesus, Luke 24:44, ". . . And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."
Which comes down to knowing Jesus Christ as our Savior and Him being our sole access to God.
A book could be written on what I only touch on here.

Jesus is the “W”ord of God. Finding the “w”ord of God “in it” contradicts saying it’s not the word of God. Same thing. You find the “word(s) of God” “in” the Bible.
If then, the word of God is Jesus Word of God, why don't we (those of us that accept the bible is the word of God) worship the bible?
