PHARISEES AND SADDUCEES
Acts 23.8
It is very strange that a certain religious fraction of Jews does not believe in resurrection, in angels, and spirit. Entire Torah, Old Testament, and the Prophets full of descriptions of angels, spirits, and even resurrections, but to a certain group of religious men this is not the fact.
How they actually explained their disbelieve in these subjects if someone will point out to them the resurrection, angels, and spirits in the Holy Scriptures which they know very well and cannot denied, remains a mystery.
Maybe they have explanations for their false believes and will explain why they denied resurrection, angels, and spirit, but Bible did not have record of such explanations, only that Sadducees do not believe in them.
But Sadducees are not alone, many similar religious groups, denominations, and similar sects exist and today, and every each of them denying, ignoring, and not believing in certain passages and statement of the Bible, or simply misinterpreting them in order to defense, protect, and promote their own false and twisted theories, believes, doctrines, and dogmas, denying just like Sadducees did obvious and undeniable facts written in the Bible.
In this case Pharisees look much better than Sadducees and despite the fact that Pharisees perhaps had they own disbelieves and arguments concerning Holy Scripture and Prophet, at least in basic knowledge concerning resurrection, angels, and spirits, they are on the right path.
Some of the Pharisees finally believe, followed, and accepted Christ, and two of them even buried the Lord after His crucifixion.
Concerning Sadducees or any other religious sect at that time, nothing is mentioned about them believing in the Lord or following the Christ.
So, in this sense the difference between ancient Sadducees and today's Christians is not much different at all as it seems, and both groups pursue their own agendas and doctrines to which they attached themselves and teach others to, ignoring in the process the true Word of GOD.
For this reason, GOD issued following Statements concerning false teachers and their false doctrines:
(Isaiah 29.13-14) (Jeremiah 23.1) (Matthew 15.12-14) (2Corinthians 11.12-15) (Colossians 2.8.18) (1Timothy 1.3-7, 4.1-3) (2Timothy 4.3-4) (Titus 1.10-16) (2Peter 2.1-3.12-19).
