don't like much meat on mine. Must have extra cheese, and don't care where it's from as long as it tastes good!

Papa John's is okay, and Vitale's is a good competitor. I don't really care where the pizza is from as long as it tastes good. Wait, I already said that. Oh, well...

Well, I think that I will go now and not have any pizza!

    In Christ's gracious love,
    Teresa

    Two words: Black olives. Double-yum.

BTW, Cici's used to be an even better deal: Until not long ago, it was just $2.99. They have a very nice no-sauce cheese pizza, too.

If you ever make it to Dallas. You must find Brother's Pizza. There is one across from the Galleria and one off of LBJ and Abrams. It is the greatest!

But like a wise person on the BB once said, " I never met a Pizza I didn't like!" lol

    Did anybody mention/remember Godfather's Pizza?

I moved back up to Northeast Ohio and it is pizza heaven up here---Authentic Mom & Pop pizzerias and Italian restaurants on every corner! Total ethnicity; so, we never buy from the chains, anymore.

Black olives, shrooms, sausage, double mozz. Yum!

The "white pizza" with spinach, sausage, mozz, and shrooms, too.

    Yikes...I'm getting a crave!

Wow,EagleLives911, I can relate! I'm originally from Texas, but I've lived here in northern Illinois for many years. There's a Mom-and-Pop place called Giuseppe's that has the most incredible pan pizza. It's just an unpretentious,hole-in-the-wall place where the owners still have their Italian accents. No franchise or chain could ever compete. Whenever my sons are home from college, they HAVE to have Giuseppe's! And to be honest...we probably have it at least once or twice a month!

Hey you folks fro Ill. In Chicago, on Rush Street, we used to go to a place called "Gino's". It wasn't a franchise, it was an Italian joint that served excellent pan pizza, still sizzlin' in the frying pan.

    Is it still open ?

Another vote for the family owned & operated mom's & pop's pizzarias. I grew up in Buffalo, NY and there were dozens of such places. It was fun checking them all out. Thick crust or Cicilian. Ground beef, spicy pepperoni, veggies (peppers, olives, hot peppers) flavored with parmesian & crushed hot red pepper.

</font>[/QUOTE]Hey Bill...it's 877-3029, but it's in far northwest Rockford, so depending on where you live, they might not deliver to you! It's worth the trip across town if you don't,though! [IMG]

Hey we need to close this thread down after all we have impressionable teenagers and they might get the impression that it is ok to eat pizza. Then their cholesterol will go up and in 40 years they might have a heart attack. We don't wont to have that on our conscience do we? Snicker
    Mark in Tx ;)

Aw,come on,Mark...pizza is good for you! It's got all the basic food groups, doesn't it? Just go easy on the cheese and you'll be fine. [IMG]

Anyway,if you lived in Illinois and not Texas, you wouldn't utter such blasphemy. I'm originally from Texas and I consider it God's Country, but there's one thing we have that's better in Illinois, and that's pizza! [IMG]

Now, if you want to talk about *Mexican* food...well, Texas has everywhere else beat, hands down! Mmm...I haven't had lunch yet, and I'm thinking wistfully of my favorite Mexican restaurant in the world...Pappasito's in Austin,Texas! *sigh*

Comedian Dennis Swanberg says the Texas has the best mexican food in the world, even better than mexico!

As far as Pizza. Hey, if its Pizza, I like it.

Buffalo has OK pizza, but the chicken wings are world class, I mean, why do you think they are called "Buffalo" wings

Around here my favorite comes from a little party store in Waterford, MI. They make a great BLT Pizza. Its a huge pan style Bacon and Cheese pizza, and when it comes out of the oven they put mayo, fresh lettuce and tomatoes on it. MMMMMM I looks really wierd, and tastes nothing like any other pizza I have had, but boy is it good.

(Hey, you knew SD was going to have some wierd food taste) :D

Here in the So Cal area, there's a chain of pizza places called "Papa John's" which started out as a mom and pop (actualy, a pop) shop and now has a chain of delivery places all over Orange County.

In fact, I think I have a leftover one in my fridge.

We probably should have some pity on foreign missionaries who might be viewing this thread. :(

Had a pizza in Istanbul. Asked me what I wanted on it. I said cheese and pepperoni.

Got a flat cooked pie-crust like pizza. NO sauce (guess I should have asked for it). Half had pieces of goat or fetid cheese, not melted. The other have had big slices of green and red peppers (and remember, no sauce, just the slices laying on this "crust").

I do feel sorry for missionaries who can just dial up Dominoes . .
