Great. You know I don’t feel that way about him but it doesn’t matter. His current plan is sound and based on public health principles and will help save lives.

Spread the word about Trump’s plan. Show solidarity with your country in this fight. The next 2 weeks are crucial to slow this thing down. Hopefully it is not too late.

I have elderly family in the US and Canada so this is not just a theoretical thing for me.

Notice that the biggest lockdowns are coming in Dem run areas. They always concentrate on electing Dem mayors. Convenient to wield their ‘power’ in situations like this. I just returned from a trip south to help get my sister & Dad set up a little better for this hunker down. Stayed in hotels in Nashville, & Augusta GA. Everyone was in normal mode. The breakfasts at the hotels were jumping, no one wearing masks. Went to Sams Club down there & got loaded up on TP, paper towels, wipes, & easy fix food. No limitations on items there, unlike at my Sams here in Michigan. After I got back, I headed out for groceries. All the women shoppers wore masks, but didn’t see one guy wearing one, heh.

Did you know that the great & wonderful CDC has, since Obama’s executive orders, been using our time & funds to study & further gun control? Maybe they should stay within their pervue, but that’s not what big government does. Did you know that the CDC had knashing of teeth & wailing when Trump was elected? I think he was talking about the idea that coronavirus is being hyped as some kind of test run to declare martial law. I don't believe that's the case here, but I wonder if it's not being sensationalized a lot. There's still not that many known cases.

I am doing the self-isolation, cleanliness bit just because I have lung problems already. There is no need to gamble, and work has clipped my wings. I do have a question for the Dragon - there are cases in your country, but it's the end of summer there. Does it bother you that that could me corona-19 can stand heat and humidity? Thing just needs to die.

Yes it is a concern. I am in the middle of the epicenter in Australia at the moment and our cases are starting to increase exponentially. The weather is cooling down as we come out of summer but it is still mid 20s Celsius during the day. Heat may slow it down a little but I don’t expect it to disappear in summer like many optimistic projections. We just don’t know enough to say one way or another. The more effective strategy is aggressive public health measures like Trump’s current plan and China’s current situation to isolate people and limit the rate of infection with social measures. We need to buy time for treatment and vaccines to be developed.

I am actually self quarantining at the moment as I await a covid 19 test result. I expect it to be negative. I just have a mild cold and no known exposures but because I am a healthcare worker, I am in a higher risk category. More because if I have it I can spread it to a lot of vulnerable people. I have even quarantined my whole family because my wife is a teacher and my kids attend school. If we do have covid 19, a few days of being stuck at home is a small price to pay for potential lives saved. The chance of us being seriously ill are very small but we can easily be a vector for elderly members in our church, our friend’s grandparents, etc.

We can afford to stay at home while many others cannot.
