Yeah, why???
Anyone sitting closer than 6 feet? If so, that would stop the spit in the front row (we call it the "holy water row")

I miss the way things were, but I do not deny the way they are now. It hurts to lose things we loved and were accustomed to, but ... Christians are called to love, and we are a body responsible for all our members, not just our virus-resistant members.

Doctors used to mock soap and refuse to use it. It took awhile for that to change.

I keep thinking of the veil in the Temple :) .

I'd probably just have kept distance between the pulpit and the congregation. But each congregation has to decide (it is not a bad idea).

Plus if the sermon is poorly received and people start throwing hymnals the preacher is protected.

Well if a preacher has the tendency to move around and I know observing some of them over the years they don't stay put... Especially exhortation preachers who have a fire in their bones and can't stay still... Then I suggest, they copy some of the NFL Football coaches and wear a face shield... Brother Glen:D

I'm thinking, "Really?" One task of a pastor is to combat fear, not spread it. "Perfect love casts out fear."

Instead of a pulpit shield, I would suggest a pastor on his knees pleading with God to spare his flock. Then he should come confidently before the church to spread faith in God's ability to protect.

I suppose it depends on what kind of a spitter your pastor and speakers are.
Knowing most Baptist congregations the front two rows are empty so probably everyone's out of the spit zone. [emoji2936][emoji2935]

I think this is a very big country and a one-sized-fits-all approach is inappropriate. I think we should trust individual churches more and support them through their experiments at a such a new thing. If we think we see a sibling being foolish, we need to pray for them from a place of love and family ties

When Noah was drunk, one of his sons covered him up, and the other mocked him. God seemed to prefer the action of covering Noah up.

What do our reactions to people and things like this say about us?

When it comes to this pandemic, I know that I don't know. God knows. I don't.
