Police Probe Attack On College Student Wearing Hijab By Man Wearing Trump Hat In Louisiana

I believe, because of Trump's extreme rhetoric, the extreme right wing terrorists have been embolden by his election. We will see more of this I fear.

Police are investigating reports that a student wearing a hijab at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette was hit with a metal object and robbed while walking to class on Wednesday morning.

One of her attackers was wearing a white hat that read “TRUMP,” a University of Louisiana Police Department notice sent to students and obtained by The Huffington Post states.

The student told police that she was on her way to class when a dark sedan approached her and two white men wearing sweatpants left the car, according to the notice.

She said the suspects struck her with “something metal,” causing her to fall to the ground. They hit her again while she was on the ground and “made obscene comments” at her, the alert states.

Because nothing like this ever happened during the last 8 years.

I am surprised you are making an excuse for the beating of a woman.

Trust me, there will be more like this. It has already happened to this gay man.

Can you show me the excuse for the beating of a woman that I made? I don't see it anywhere.

Yes, you tried to excuse this act and redirect the thread to the past and not keep in in the here and now and about what will happen if these radical right wingers are not stopped now. Your reply simply indicated that is was simply pay back for previous acts.

Previous, current and future acts like this should never be accepted in any way, regardless of who they were committed against and regardless of political, religious persuasion or ethnic group the person is a member of.

I believe you agree with me second paragraph. Replies should be carefully worded so as not to give an indication of what you really do not believe.

I also just saw a video of two black men beating an elderly white Trump voter. :( This is why I told my daughter to not put anything on her car or say anything where she lives about voting Republican. She lives in Washington DC where 93% of the voters were for Hillary Clinton - and where there were protests and flag burnings. It would be very unsafe.

I never excused this act. It is wrong. Period. ANY attack on another human being is wrong. However, it is not just Mr. Trump supporters who hurt people

I agree, it is not just Trump supporters. But I do believe his inflammatory rhetoric has and will encourage some in our society to single out minorities for mistreatment. I also believe that is what many werre really saying when they said they wanted to return America to an early era. That has put fear into the lives of many of my African-American friends. It has also put fear into the lives of people who have immigrated here legally from some foreign countries. To me Trump did a great disservice to all Americans with his campaign bellicose language.

Additionally his bully attitude has encouraged bully children to taunt and bully others, especially children of alien parents. I can cite references for this if you want.

Sadly no one seems to have told Christians that putting Trump stickers on their cars would perhaps cause many of the lost from certain communities to flee from their parking lots (without ever stopping or getting out) like they were being chased.

Just like my daughter feels nervous about being a Republican in a very Democratic area which now is hosting protests and fires. I've seen the beatings of Trump supporters. It's frightening as a parent to me to think that my daughter is in that kind of a situation. Fortunately she's in a good area so they aren't protesting outside of her home.

And the signs looking for the assassination of Donald Trump and the hanging in effigy isn't inflammatory rhetoric?

It's equally frightening for parents from certain communities to know that churches are full of folks who supported a man who wants to initiate stop and frisk across the country.[emoji15]

And she might be in a more wealthy area. Good in terms of neighborhoods is relative.

I don't think I've read anything in the last 8 years of you or too many other folks on here or throughout Christian churches complaining about the calls to kill Obama.

Someone wore a Halloween costume to an NFL game with a noose around Obama's neck.Where were the complaints about incendiary rhetoric? Shucks that's all Trump did the majority of the time was put out incendiary rhetoric.

I haven't heard much if anything from the right about why threats against Obama had increased some 400% in comparison to his predecessor according to the Secret Service.

Yes the are, but those are not from a candidate who could be the president. Trump was a candidate and is now a president elect. Hie horrible words carry much more weight.

Do you admire Trump's view of women?

debunked media meme:

http://www.politifact.com/georgia/s...lian-bond/no-concrete-evidence-support-claim/

the gay guy at least went to the emergency room - what is off-kilter here is that he says that happened down in Santa Monica, not exactly a hotbed for homophobic bigots. Want to see a real hate crime in Chicago?:

Skeptical of the Muslim woman's account of this - she declined medical treatment after she was attacked by a "metal object"? Then these two "white men in sweatpants" - one of which is wearing a white Trump hat and that's the only description she gives, scream at her, rip off that thing she's wearing, take her wallet and leave the scene in a "dark sedan". This happened at 11 in the morning, no witnesses, no videotape, no credibility.

I did not see any of those but if I had, I would have been vocal as well.

I don't understand. Is it OK now that he is president elect?

Do you admire Trump's view of women?

From what he's said, no.

From what he's said, no.

No, it is worse and he bears some responsibility for the violence that has happened against minority ethnic groups since the election and which will happen in the future.
