I checked all but the last one. I use whatever I can get my hands on! :tongue3:

One of my favorite tools is Swordsearcher software. It is unbelievable the amount of info in it. My son gave it to me for Christmas last year.

Same as Amy...everything but that last one. Love esword which has many of the options on one program.

I have a read in `word for today` a periodical which I keep in work. Also read `the Berean e.mail which I get daily.

All of those tools can be very good in helping one understand the Scriptures as long as they don't replace the Scriptures. There are many people that are much smarter than I am and I can benefit greatly by their study.

I read through the Bible (takes a couple years, not racing anyone to get it down quick) in a DIFFERENT TRANSLATION each time. This truly gives me some insights.

And always with original language text open - to try to understand why a given English word was used/not used.

And then just about everything on the list! I am working 8-10 weeks out on sermons and Bible study so all of my reading revolves around these as well.

I like to read some work of scholarship that relates to the text I am reading. I only recently began to re-read the entire Bible, starting with Genesis, and am reading Harold Bloom's "The Book of J" alongside it. Challenging and sometimes incomprehensible, but it brings a new perspective.

Then I write out my own responses in a blog; sometimes I do not know what I think until I write it down! :laugh:

I also read a Proverb a day. Interesting how there are 31. :)

Today I read chapter 28 (cause today is the 28th). It sounds so much like our country today.


My pastor suggested this about a year ago for the church to do and it will change your life.
