Posted by Tragic.
Ther5e's been plenty of Scripture offered already, to no avail.

And please, oh please, keep it up with the "persoanl attack" accusation. There has been no personal attack made on you by me, and you know it.

But hey, it keeps you from having to address my points, though, doesn't it?
Now, see, DHK, this is what a personal attack looks like.

Thought I'd point it out.
Now these are meaningless posts, with absolutely no Scripture in them, and have nothing to do with the topic. Contrary to what Tragic has said, he has posted no Scripture, only complaints. That is usual hype.

"And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words." Mt. 6:7, NIV

Exactly what's happening today in Christian churches. Stop acting like childish pagans.

Matthew 6-7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

The above traslation (in KJV) could also be referring to things like, "hail marys, our fathers, the Lords prayer" being said over and over instead of real prayer with a purpose!!

Selah,

Tam

P.S. P.N., it must be nice to have no fear of the moderator!!

You are correct in your interpretation. However, as in many verses there is one interpretation but many applications. The application that prophecy gave was quite correct. The consistent repetition of nonsense syllables can be construed as a proper application of that same verse.

I will answer this one more time. If posts are not directed to the subject of tongues, and simply construed as personal attacks, they will be deleted. Quit wasting band width on frivilous posts. Do not answer this post. I don't want argument. I would like to see the discussion of tongues to continue. Thank you for your understanding.

20 years ago those poll numbers would be
completely zero for tongues for today especially
in Baptist company. Very interesting plus 21
people on the fence or basically nuetral...ladies
and gentleman the Baptist church is changeing!

Is it because of charasmatic tv?

The numbers would be quite different in the Baptist Only forum if the same poll was taken there. There are a number of Charasmatics that participated in this poll. That is one of the reasons the results do give some favor toward tongues.
