What if the Razorbacks start winning again? Maybe you can try and draft Clark again. [IMG]

Yeah, it's only important if the goal is to reach the lost for Christ Jesus. Otherwise, you are correct - it doesn't matter what non-Christians think about prejudicial atttitudes adopted by Christians.

Not so. Condi Rice is not the only presidential candidate I would support versus Senator Clinton.

Nah. Not Wesley Clark. But, now, maybe U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln might be another story. [IMG]

It is my job to preach the Gospel to the lost. God will reach whom he wills. These are not prejudicial attitudes. They are realistic and based on my own experiences with female leaders. Again, if a woman comes along and proves that she can put her emotions and maternal instincts behind her against the natural way God created her to be as Commander in Chief, then I would be happy to consider voting for her just like I would any other person, man or woman. Thus far, I have not met a woman like that. I am glad you have where you live. I wish you the very best. I will address one last thing, however. Your attempt to paint me as prejudice and sexist is really a pathetic attempt to justify your desperate pandering to a mildly pro-choice Condi for President so that you can keep Hillary out of office. What is really offensive is that this is the only way you think you can win the female vote against Hillary in 08 and is the real reason you are a big Condi supporter. I dare say that if it were a man running against Condi, you might not be so ready to support her, as was evidenced by your support last year until the very end of a 3rd party candidate over the issue of abortion. I kid you not. You do more flip-flopping than John Kerry. :D

That is simply not true. I have liked Condolezza Rice as a foreign policy analyst for a long time. I think she is absolutely brilliant. Once you realize that I subscribe to three foreign policy publications - Foreign Affairs, The National Interest, The American Interest - then it should be easy to understand why I am such a big admirer of our current Secretary of State.

I also admire Congressman Ron Paul, Congressman Tom Tancredo, U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, and Governor Tim Pawlenty. I would be willing to support any of these if our Draft Condi Movement is not successful.

I totally disagree with your characterization that God did not create women with the ability to lead. The Bible is replete with woman leaders.

I didn't say that and you know it. God created women to be emotional and maternal by nature. If you deny that, then you don't understand women as well as you should. If God chose to have a woman be a leader, he created her and can help her overcome anything that would be a hinderance to good leadership, especially when it comes to military leadership. This is clearly evident in Deborah. I simply haven't met a woman yet that I think is qualified to be CIC. If I do, I will consider voting for her. You are getting desperate in your pandering for the woman vote in 08 that you have to resort to smearing others.

It is clearly evident in Condi Rice, as well. [IMG]

I can't recall any military leaders in the Bible. Joseph, I think you are absolutely right on. God did not create women to be military leaders. We are talking about the most powerful position on the planet in charge of the most powerful military on the face of the earth - not a social club or the local PTA.

It's too bad people can't feel free to express their views without getting bashed and accused. But the polls clearly show that we are NOT in the minority when it comes to not wanting a woman for President. I also think it could prove quite demoralizing to our military to have a woman Commander in Chief.

And I make no apology for my position on this matter. I have never claimed to be politically correct about any subject and certainly won't start now just because some people are offended about my opinion on this subject. In fact, as a conservative I could be just as easily offended that women's liberation has even extended to the point that it is a consideration to have a woman in the WH. How do ya like them apples?

And personally, I don't care for Condi Rice. Never have. She might be a great pianist, but she was sure a lousy National Security adviser because 09/11 happened under her watch.

    1) You should notice that the Commander-in-Chief in the U.S. is a civilian position. The president is not a "military leader". The military leaders are in the Pentagon. I would encourage you to watch the new NBC show on Wednesday nights called "E*Ring". It is a great show. One does not have to have served in combat or even served in the armed forces at all to be the president.

    2) That is not true. The majority of the American people have no problem with the idea of a woman president.

It is pretty clear to me that God used Deborah as a military leader in the Bible. This is, however, the rare exception to the rule.

Personally, I think she is a great Secretary of State, and I admire her views on spreading democracy around the world. I don't blame 9-11 on her. I am not sure, however, that she would make a good president.

It was complicated, but if she wants to know what might influence your opinion she needed to be complicated. [IMG]

After having worked for men, and having worked for women, I will never vote for a woman as President.

Though I currently work for a woman who does not fit this description, the majority of the woman I worked with could not separate the job from their emotional state. If a man turned in a report and it was rejected, he took the view that his report needed to be changed or the rejectors of it were wrong. He didn't personalize it. The woman did. They never considered they might be wrong. It was because the person didn't like them, or because they weren't dressed the way someone wanted, or it was jealousy.....

The men focused more on the task at hand. "We have a site review coming up. Let's make sure our data is in organized, and correct" (from the men.) "We have a site review coming up. Get that paper off your desks. If it looks neat they'll think better of us." (from the women.)

(I didn't make that last example up either. I lived though it.)

I am a woman, but in over 33 years as an employee I've only worked for one woman who managed to keep her focus totally on work and the job at hand.

I guess that the company I work for hires higher quality women in the area of leadership. I haven't found the situations that either TexasSky or Joseph to be the case at all where women are in positions of leadership at my company. And we have lots of women in leadership positions, especially in the Controller Department.

    Ken,

You're not really correct in your assessment of the duties of the President. He is still Commander in Chief, and the top military officials do still report to him. He also has the authority and power to send in troops for a few days prior to the ruling of Congress. (You may be too young to know it, but there was a time when he could declare war without Congress' approval.)

As the man who sets foreign policy - it is STILL a very military type position.
