He's back and he's at it again! This Pope is as liberal as they make them, and in many ways, he and Obama are cut from the same clothe! Do you agree with his premise, " ... the Church not only should apologize ... to a gay person whom it offended but it must also apologize to the poor as well, to the women who have been exploited, to children who have been exploited by (being forced to) work. It must apologize for having blessed so many weapons."

Why would this be surprising? He is the socially liberal leader of the Catholic Church, which itself does not exactly follow Scripture closely.

As for apologizing to the poor, I can agree to a point with this. Visit the Vatican and you will understand what I mean.

I do believe if a church has been evil, hostile and angry against a people group, that an apology is not wrong. However, we need to separate the apology for our own actions and condoning or accepting sin. It would be like a church being all angry and vocal against drug abusers, just calling them sinners and refusing to help them, I think an apology and a decision to turn the tide and help them just might be in order. We are ALL sinners and to condemn one group instead of trying to lead them to Christ is wrong. But there is a balance and I think the Pope is thinking one way and it is being reported another. But then again, I could be completely wrong.

Right or wrong, that is your opinion regarding the topic. I don't believe any church is condemning the gay community. But, we do have the responsibility to call what they do a sin. For the record, their behavior, gay parades for one, are disgusting because it shows their complete lack of shame i their life style. It would be like straights, holding a "Straight Pride Week" and parade.

Now that is my opinion. I am against any sinner publicly promoting their life style, naked butt cheeks and all.

I'm right there with you RD! Our old church (which interestingly enough is a PCUSA church that is now trying to leave that organization and go to a more conservative organization) is right in the middle of a large local town where there is a pride parade every year. The church has opened it's doors, has a large sign that is very prominent as the parade goes down Main Street that says "Jesus Changes Lives". It was put up for the first pride parade and has been there ever since. It's the first thing you see when you come into town. They pass out water bottles with Scripture on them (I think last year was John 3:16), have people inside the church praying and ready to counsel people (and they have had people come in for prayer!) and they hand out tracts and books to the marchers and those around showing that God has a better way. I find that the right way to deal with a pride parade passing by the doors of your church. They COULD have gone out and protested, been angry, hurled insults and the like which I think would need an apology. But what they are doing is right and good, IMO.

Heterosexuals don't need to to brainwash the public into thinking heterosexuality is not shameful, because heterosexuality is not shameful. "Gay Pride", even the word "Gay" exists exactly because homosexuality is shameful and Liberals want to convince the public that homosexuality is something other than what it really is.

The current pope is shameful. Even from Catholic perspective. It's so tiring to have to have the Vatican endlessly "clarify" the Pope's unchristian and uncatholic comments.

The pope is a Peronist--an Argentine follower of the socialist Juan Peron, who patterned the government of Argentina after fascist Italy and Mussolini. With the large numbers of s0d0mites serving as priests in the RCC, the pope may well be apologizing to that nest of vipers among the RCC priests.

On the contrary, Pope Frances is trying to facilitate sexual abuse by condemning those who stood against that nest of vipers serving as RCC priests. People like Frances are why the RCC had such a large problem in the first place.
