Please note, today is the 19th. The End of the Spear is released tomorrow. I predict that we will have a thread applauding the End of the Spear movie, so I am starting this one ahead of time with the following positive review of the film.
"The acting was superb. They couldn't have picked a better cast."
"It was such a positive, uplifting movie. The message is love and forgiveness. It doesn't matter that the Gospel wasn't presented, the theme about love and forgiveness was woven throughout the movie and that is what Jesus is all about."
"I highly recommend everyone to see this film. It will change your life."
"What a testimony of the love of Jesus and His unconditional love."
"It was powerful and riveting. I was on the edge of my seat."
No, I haven't seen the EOS nor do I plan to. But I can predict the responses ahead of time of those who will go to see it.
The underlying subliminal message that young people will walk away with (who are being raised in a gray society that seems to have no boundaries) is that it is okay to be gay and a Christian and it is not a sin to engage in homosexual behavior. After all, a gay actor played in a Christian film, so it must be okay to be gay.
And Christians have already blessed this film by their support of it, even after knowing the casting story behind it, and Christians will continue to bless this film with their reviews and their dollars and buying the EOS gizmos and gadgets that go along with mass marketing. Maybe there will be an EOS VBS program coming soon to a church near you.
Sad.
