    Postmodernism is the practice of being contrary to the established principles and practices of modernism. It's most often apparant in art and architecture.

    Use of it in regards to spiritual aspects of the church are highly vague and subjective.

    I don't know if contrary would be the best word. Sometimes postmodern expressions are complementary to modern expressions.

    Post- is a time related modifier.
