Brothers and Sisters....I have come to the conclusion after being on the BB for several weeks now that we all need to institute a "PRAY before you POST" rule in here.I have seen many posts that obviously were done in the energy of the flesh and I'm sure I have been guilty of that as well.I would ask each of you to forgive me if I have offended anyone.Even when we disagree with each other we should all remember to "speak the truth in love".It is hard sometimes. We must stand on the truth and sometimes that requires being dogmatic about it lest we compromise....but our speech should always be with grace, seasoned with salt.Insults and accusations are hard to bear in a christian forum and we should all seek to glorify the Lord in not only what we say,but HOW we say it.See Colossians 3:12-14 and 4:6 and pray before you post!We don't want the devil to EVER get any satisfaction or glory on this board. He just loves it when he can get us off track and fighting each other. And that folks is JMHO.

God Bless You All,
Greg Sr.

Dear Greg,
Thanks for the reminder, I appreciate your insight and will count ten and pray before answering.

Amen, brother! I believe that the fighting and insults could cause an unbelieving reader to run from the Lord. I don't want to ever have that blood on my hands.

Good idea. I think it is also a good idea to pray daily for those on the board in general and to check out the prayer request area on the board daily.

GPS,

Great idea. I usually pray as I write and I pray for the guys through the day... for God's blessing on those who agree with me, and for the truth to penetrate the hearts of those who don't!

I am not kidding! Well, should I try to be politically correct, or just plain honest?

Jer 17:9 - yep, I still struggle.

Anyhow, great idea and thanks for calling us back to what we all, well some us, already know! Just kidding, hope everyone here knows it! Pray without ceasing.

On the other hand, to some degree I view the theological debating like "spiritual chess". You make a move, your opponent makes a move, you announce check, he blocks with a pawn. Q x P, CHECKMATE!

Sorry if that sounds "in the flesh", just being straight up with you.

Funny to see a newbie telling others what we should do . . .

But that said, agree that praying is good idea always on the BB.

Greg Sr. you are so right. I have seen many posts by people that couldn't disagree in a Christian way. Insults are really uncalled for. :( Hopefully everyone will see this thread and do what you said.

God Bless you,
Rachel

Sometimes it is the new guy that sees things that are important because he has not been conditioned to a certain way of thinking by experience as yet!

 Thank you Ben....I am new HERE but I have been saved for a long time and have experienced much since 1977.I thank God for this Board and my newfound brothers and sisters in Christ.I came on here recently earnestly desiring to have and offer fellowship.I just don't thin we can ever get enough of that! However,in the 6 or so years I have been on the internet,I have noticed that many times people will say things via a keyboard that they would probably NEVER say face to face with someone. It seems that the supposed annonimity of the 'net'seems to empower a certain 'boldness'in some that causes them to forget there is a soul and spirit behind every printed paragraph we see on here.It is a wonderful form of fellowship and communication that our generation is priviledged to enjoy and it should be used to edification. While I may be a newbie on here I do want to start off right...proceed thusly....and end well.I'd love to hear a trumpet blow about now!

God Bless You....Greg Sr.

YEs Brother Greg, that was before Al Gore
invented the internet. The internet
now is not like it was four years ago
let alone in July 1984. In July 1984
I logged on to my first Bulletin Board
(at home, i've been a computer professional
for 29 years and a computer user in
training before that).

Note: bulletin board .not equal. internet

Diane, my daughter, thank you; i look
younger than i am ;)

Speaking of my mother, in Jan 2000
(when she was 75) i helped her buy a
computer. By March she was running
her own geneology board

Now, Now Bro. Ed. I'm not young enough to be your daughter by ANY stretch of the imagination.

Ed, I used to download free software from bulletin boards with my 300 baud modem starting on my Commodore 64, then from my $1200.00 XT with its high resolution "Hercules" black and white screen. It would take four hours to get a little word processor program. Probably coulda bought the program six times over, but there was just something about getting on a bulletin board. (This was when AT&T OWNED "long-distance".)

Oh, about prayer before posting. Probably a GREAT idea, but we'll probably miss about 80% of the best posts. ;)
