Today my wife will undergo surgery for a double Mastectomy and reconstruction. It will be the first of two. Prayers appreciated.

I just saw this. She, you and all others concerned have my prayers. BTW, I've been primarily working with breast cancer patients for the last 2 1/2 years doing rehabilitation physical therapy and lymphedema management. In fact, I built up an exercise program and specialized in this condition but just quit my job to start a new business last week but promised I would fill in occasionally so am still involved. I will miss my patients. Typically the mastectomy is followed by chemo and radiation, but I don't know the circumstances so am just guessing. I'm usually pretty amazed how well they come through all this with proper follow up treatment as well as how tough these girls can be. Anyway, hang in there and know it will get better.

She continues to do well. she is back to work after less than three weeks and feeling energetic. Her employer is limiting her responsibilities and sending her home right on time. She is back to mostly normal activities. She will have reconstruction by what is known as the DEIP process some time in December. She is looking forward to finishing this up. Thanks for the prayers.

I'm so glad she's doing so well. It's got to be a scary thing and with such a big surgery, a lot to adjust to! But healing takes time and I'm glad her employer is really taking care of her.

My wife is going in for reconstructive surgery related to the last one on Monday the 20th. She will be in the hospital for four days coming home Christmas eve. She will then be at home for two weeks minimum recovering.

She will be in my prayers.

I must have missed this OP when I was on my self-imposed hiatus.
