I wanted to respond to my friend Baptist Believer as part 1 of this topic was closed as I was not on line when his post came about.

BB you said: "So if i were to make a claim about YOU that you will hate every Democrat for the rest of your life, not willing to even give them the benefit of the doubt about whatever they say, would you be offended"?

Not in the least. As long as they continue their march to the left and keep to their wholesale disregard of the U.S. Constitution, I will continue to despise everything they stand for. I do not hate them as fellow human beings, I hate their political ideas. These people cannot be given the benefit of the doubt because they have proven over and over again that they will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.

On Sept 6, 2017 during her confirmation hearing Sen. Feinstein told Notre Dame Law School Professor Amy Coney Barrett that: "When you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you, and that's of concern when you come to big issues that large numbers of people have fought for, for years in this country."

That my friend is a big attack on a person's religious faith tradition and has no place coming from the mouth of a United States Senator who is sitting in judgement of a judicial nominee. That is called a "religious test" for office and it is a serious violation of the U.S. Constitution to be sure and it shows exactly where it starts and who it comes from.

So I will repeat, the Democrats already have the script written and ready for use if Ms. Barrett should ever be a SCOTUS nominee, and it will be wielded by Sen. Feinstein and her trusty lieutenants.

Now, fast forward to Judge Kavenaugh's nomination and who do we see behind the biggest political dirty trick ever let loose during a nomination process since Clarence Thomas? That's right, none other than our old friend, Ms. Feinstein who had received a bombshell of an allegation in July but held said information from her Republican colleagues, thereby violating the agreement that serious accusations were to be dealt with behind closed doors in a professional and bi-partisan manner. That did not happen and now look where we are.

So no, Democrats cannot be trusted nor given the benefit of the doubt, at any time, on any issue.

P.S. As for my screen name "Adonia", that was my grandfathers given name, but everyone knew him as Peter or "Pete". I believe one of King David's sons also had that moniker.

Thank you for sharing. The name Adonia means, "The Lord is my God," although I'm sure you already know that. It is a wonderful name and I like how the name has personal significance to you to use in this forum.

Majority Senate leader McConnell has filed cloture. The ball started rolling again to hopefully confirm Kavanaugh.

According to FoxNews, a vote is set for Friday to either confirm or deny Kavanaugh’s confirmation to SCOTUS.

Manchin and Heitkamp have much to lose if they vote no in confirming Kavanaugh. Heitkamp is losing in the polls 53% to 41% to challenger Kevin Kramer. But if she votes yes, maybe her #’s increase in the polls? Manchin and Morrisey are in a tight battle, but WV is a red state(but they vote Democrat for senate and governor) in the presidential races. A no vote may swing voters to voting for Morrisey.

Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, North Dakota will go a long ways in hopefully making it easier for Trump to confirm conservative SCOTUS.

Indiana...Democrat has a slight lead
ND...GOP has 10%-12%(depends on which polls you read) on incumbent
Missouri...buck-for-ball race
Tenn...GOP has a 5% lead in the polls
Arizona...Democrat has a slight lead
WV...Democrat has 8% lead in polls, but if he votes no, it may cause a massive slide
Nevada...Democrat has a 4% lead in the GOP incumbent

A lot a politicking to go yet...

This is interesting.

The Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have sent a letter to Senator Grassley complaining that the Senate Judiciary Twitter account (controlled by Republicans) has tweeted that past FBI investigative reports on Judge Kavanaugh contained no evidence, not even a whiff, of sexual assault or alcohol abuse.

The Democrats complaint is that the tweet is inaccurate. They don't say which part of the tweet--that there was no sexual assault or that there was no alcohol abuse--is inaccurate.

The interesting thing is that both Senator Chris Coons and Sen. Amy Klobuchar refused to sign the letter. Could Sen. Coons or Klobuchar be a Yea vote?

As I heard it, the Friday vote is procedural, if it passes, then the confirmation vote will be taken on Saturday.

Right . It's a cloture vote. Since it passed, the confirmation will now move to the floor for debate and a confirmation vote. Only 30 Hrs. of debate is allowed. Thus the confirmation vote will be Saturday afternoon/evening.

Lisa could still flip again, especially if the price is right - there is no real reason for her to stick with the losing side of the vote.

That picture makes both of them look really bad - DiChiFi looks like an aging bully tormenting an aging little girl.

Nobody here has mentioned Tester, he's weak weak weak.

Last I saw, Tester’s in a dead heat race, but a thumb to the scale on his side.

I think the DNC has decided at this point that it would probably be better to let Kavanaugh take the seat than Amy Barrett.

Kavanaugh has been wounded. Better a wounded white male than Amy Barrett (she is probably up for the next vacancy though).

Also they are hoping against hope to win back the congress.

Can't imagine what the next SCOTUS replacement war is going to be like.

She should not even be in the Congress as she lost the Republican nomination for Senator but ran anyway. Dumb Alaskans.
And if you can believe it that was 8 years ago. Her last election in 2016 was as a Republican. 4 more years of Murkowski.
