Why should the President cave in to a ridiculous demand by the House Republicans. Maybe the Democrats should counter with a proposal to accept the Republicans offer if all of their sons immediately join the military. They love war. Why shouldn't they be willing to do that?

See ? These ARE your words.

Wouldn't you demand the daughters, as well ? Why be misogynist about it ?

Here's the latest.

Breaking: The House will vote tonight on a plan to reopen the government and avoid defaulting on the debt, according to Congressional sources. After listening to House members at Republican conference this morning, House Republican leaders planned to bring a plan to the floor that will end Obamcare subsidies for elected officials and staff in Washington.

Ha ha ha! Pathetic Republicans. Told ya!

Can you give us a link ?

You know, you're starting to grow on me. :)

Seriously, I know you're going to keep citing websites I find difficult to swallow, but you've got good intentions, and most of what you say is agreeable. Not that you need my approval. I really liked this post:

But I do apologize for the unfair and snide way I've treated you. Please forgive me.

Please stop derailing this thread.

I'm talking about his negotiating stance that he will not budge on ACA. He said it over and over and over again and he hasn't moved from it. That is kind of refreshing--to see a politician actually do what they say they will do.

Speaking of wanting to see and hear only what they want to see and hear: Show me where I've said the Republicans "won't compromise". You can't. I've said all along that the Republicans will cave in.

As per the OP, do you have any predictions?

A democracy is all about compromise. Without it we reach the kind of totally ineffective government we have right now. Tying payment of America's existing debts to a blind refusal to go along with a four year old law in not a democracy. That's the kind of thing dictators do. Whatever happened to the quaint idea of a government by the people? The American people don't support the radical Republican's stand. They're playing with fire. Countries around the world are right now deciding how to act if America defaults on its obligations. Are you really willing to tear down our country just because you hate one president and one party?

It's no wonder zombies are so popular these days. Art imitates life right?

Don't sweat it for the most part we/re just entertainers here. Most of the people that follow these threads only come here for the fights anyway. I just hope they go away a little more informed and better prepared.

Speaking of being prepared have you checked out my preparedness thread at the top yet? There's some mighty fine recipes for racoon!

It's the epitome of arrogance to assume that because you and a couple of people you personally know think the same way, that you represent and speak for all of the American people.

Do the American people actually support the ACA? Or do they support Obamacare? Recent polls have shown that in general, the American people don't know the difference between the two. Yet you state the American people don't support the stand against this legislation.

Well, I'm an American; I support any Representative and Senator, Republican, Democrat, or other, who opposes the ACA.

Thanks. I'll have to check that out. Used to go raccoon hunting when I was a young D/A teenager in north Missouri. Sat under a tree all night long with a couple friends drinking beer waiting for one to get tired of waiting on us to leave. In the end, the raccoon had more patience than we had sobriety!!
