What do you consider to be the prettiest city that you have seen? Small or large.

Well, according to an old Bobby Bare song its Baltimore at night.

Never been to Baltimore, so I'll go with Charleston, SC.

Within the continental U.S.: Mount Lemon, AZ (elev. 9,000 ft.; located about 50 mi. NW of Tucson, AZ)

Europe: Heidelberg, Germany

Oh that's tough.

There's Mentor, Ohio, where the trees bow down in brilliant colors over quiet roads in fall. Not much beats that time of year in certain parts of Ohio for beauty.

Unless it's a place like Layton, Utah, on a clear summer day. Mountains tall and proud, the sun setting orange and pink over the lake in the background, military planes flying overhead letting you know you're safe.

Then there's Montana. ALL OF IT. Anytime. Can we just call Montana a city?

You just can't beat a castle to spruce up a city. We saw the Schlossbeleuchtungen back in 1983.

Although it's been about 45 years since I was stationed in Germany, I still recall seeing that castle in Heidelberg situated atop that mountain that overlooked the Rhine River.

A friend of mine told me that he and his wife were married in that castle. I'm sure that was quite a wedding ceremony.

Looking out across the city at night is something I've always found a pretty sight. Just don't think about it too hard. LOL I mean the light and such. In fact, I have a picture of NYC's nightline on my wall.

Atlanta is impressive all lit up at nighttime passing through on I-75.

Jerome, Arizona; I thought it was a quaint, pretty spot when I visited there many years ago (but I've no doubt it's just as corrupt as any of the others).

Guess I'm in the minority since I enjoy cities.

On the east coast...

I enjoy going to DC -- staying downtown near the mall, seeing the museums and monuments. Love seeing the city at night. Great metro system makes getting around a breeze.

Boston is a great city. Very walkable. Love Little Italy. Great restaurants.

In Florida, Coral Gables is known as the City Beautiful, and has many tree-lined streets like this.

Out west...

I love Vancouver. Beautiful city on the water next to the mountains. Very walkable, very safe. Stanley Park is great. Close to Butchart Gardens too.

San Francisco is a bit crazy, but parts are very beautiful. Plus it's close to wine country. :love2:

I am going to say Wanganui.....it is beautiful in spring and autumn....I am a fan of bulb flowers, flowering cherry trees and magnolias. Roses grow like weeds here too.

Brisbane is Beautiful with the subtropic splendour when it has had a good rainfall.
