Priesthood of the Believers

2 Timothy2:1-4

The right to read and interpret scripture is another major aspect. Catholics had their beliefs dictated to them by the Pope and their priest. Baptists held to the belief that each individual Christian had the right and the responsibility to work out their faith by studying scripture and prayer (and Bible study and preaching).

Phl 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

This verse doesn't deal with this doctrine. However 2 Peter 2:4-9 does. Exodus 19:6 is not speaking to the Levitical Priests but to the nation of Israel as a whole.

Of course it does. Working out your own salvation means that someone must properly interpret the Bible for themsdelves and work out their salvation. You're incorrectly interpreting this verse.

So where in that verse does it mention it?

Show me any verse in the Bible that contains the words "Priesthood of believers." It's an interpretation of scripture not a literal reading of it. Your up.

Is this what you wanted?

1 Peter 2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“ Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,

“ The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”

8 and

“ A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

I highlighted the second declaration about being a priesthood, the part about being believers, and where Peter identifies the audience as gentile believers (once were not a people).

Revelation 1:6
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Just to add to what has been posted I will mention again Exodus 19:6 as well. These verses clearly mention the preisthood of the believer and define it.
