C'mon CMG, you should give credit for C4K for posting this thread. I think Bush has done well in this disaster but I didn't post the thread.

    My bad.

If people will be damning My President:
George W. Bush, on other threads
    in matters far removed from
his level of responsibility, i see nothing
wrong with a little praise for him.

    I restate my case:

President George W. Bush is an excellent
president: this afternoon i saw a train full
of plyboard and other wood products
    headed south thru Central Oklahoma.

    Apparently our President George
    W. Bush is an excellent president
    who has inspired some
wonderful people, the Baptists of Texas, to
donate several dozen of their summer
    youth camps to be used
    refugee camps until next summer.

During the 2000 election, Bush was asked to comment on President Clinton's scandals, Bush said, "It's time to move on".

His respect for former President Clinton says a lot to me.

    This thread is refreshing!

    Thanks for starting it, Roger!

It's also refreshing to have a President who prays every day and seeks guidance from God.

He is human. He is real. He walks the talk. He does what he can. He stays focused on the goals. He respects the local and state governments. He doesn't believe government is the answer to every problem. He doesn't let the bashers get the best of him. He prays. He worships. He proclaims his belief while respecting the right of others to believe differently or not at all. He calls on all to help including political foes. He works hard. He gets things done. He leads and lets others manage, others supervise, and others work. He makes mistakes but isn't rattled by them. He supports his staff. He holds his staff accountable. He feels pain but holds to the tasks that must be done. He handles a thankless job with humility. I respect him a lot, even though if I wish for many things he can not do in government.

The Baptists in Tennessee would have responded even without President Bush's inspiration. In fact, we responded to the needy even when Clinton was President. Just an observation.

    Personal note interjected.

I have been publicly accused of Biblical murder (1 John 3v15) for "hating" our president and my brother in Christ.

I wanted to make it publicly clear that while I disagree with many of his policies and did not vote for him I do not hate him. There are things that are worthy of praise and this is the place to post them.

Now, back to the pro-president comments please [IMG] .

Why can't you leave it to Bush's loyal supporters to start a thread to defend him?

President Bush is man enough to admit that he had errors in his youth, but has dealt with them. A lesser man would deny he ever had those problems. None of us are perfect and it is wrong to pretend that we are.

    That's a very good point C4K!

I've made many "errors" - most would otherwise be known as outright sins - in my youth and my adult life. I'm not proud of any of them. If it were not for the Holy Spirit's constant guidance there's no telling what I'd do because in my fallen state I am a very evil creature. Even when I manage to do some good things it is often for the wrong reasons. If it were not for the saving grace of Jesus Christ I'd be rightly sentenced to an eternity of suffering separated from God. If it were not for the Father's grand plan of creation I wouldn't even have the capacity to know the difference for I'd be nothing more than a wild animal.

I truly believe our President understands these things about himself and that he prays often asking God for wisdom, courage, and determination in the execution of his duties on our behalf. I hope he does so because as a man without God he would certainly be doing all the wrong things.

The purpose of this thread is to condemn the President with faint praise. This thread should be closed and voters loyal to the President should be allowed to defend him on their on terms.

    This thread is phoney.

You are wrong CMG. Please stick to the topic at hand.

I will not close a sincere thread to placate your false opinions. Your prejudicail opinion of me won't even allow me to share what I see as positive points about the President.

Please stick to the topic as requested. Any further off topic posts such as this will be deleted.

My opinion of the motives behind this thread is not false. This thread is a phoney attack on the President and we have seen trite stuff posted here which indicates that the purpose is to condemn the President with faint praise. The people loyal to the President are censored here and are not allowed to defend the President on their own terms but have to please people who have never supported the President.

This is sheer hypocrisy. And your threat to delete me and to keep this thread open show your motives behind your condemnation of my opinions. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't see any attacking going only praise to which I will add.

President Bush has shown a steady hand of leadership in difficult times. I certainly would not want to be the leader of the US during the difficulties he has faced. Well done Mr. President you have shown great courage in these difficult times.

Okay CMG, I'll play your game. Which of my praises is faint? We will let the other posters judge who is being fair here. Are we saying that only those who voted for the president have the liberty to praise him? Several total supporters of the president have chosen to praise him here.

I am amazed at such venom when I attempt to prove that there are things about the President of which I approve.

Perhaps the real reason you hate a Pro President thread it that it shoots down all of the lies and innuendoes made about me.

Can we get back to praising President Bush?

President Bush always behaves as a gentlemen, even under pressure.
