Promised to them that love him

James 2:5
5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Where in scripture is this promise found, and what does it mean by them that 'love him'?

Matthew 24 tells us that if anyone loves Him he will keep His words and the Father will love him and "they" will make their abode with him.

Loving God means you are obedient to what He has said.

It's that pesky faith that works thing again.
