If it were unconstitutional, the former presidents listed above would be guilty of unconstitutional acts. They were never charged with such a thing, or even criticized as Trump is today.

I don't see the logic of that argument....besides its up to courts to decide.....possibly even the Supreme court because it looks like its headed in that direction.

The logic is precedent.

Chester A. Arthur. Banned Chinese in 1882

Theodore Roosevelt. 1903, the Anarchist Exclusion Act

Harry Truman.
Communists banned in 1950

Jimmy Carter. Banned Iranians in 1980

Obama's hold on Muslim immigration in 2011.

Oh, you mean like the precident of sending a boatload of Jews back to Germany during WW2 to be exterminated or sending two Christians back to Syria like Trump did yesterday?

Now you may want to reevaluate your precedent.....cause you may just be killing people in the process.

Do they have a large statue in their property that makes the statement ..... Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore?
Well seriously, national policy isn't based on a statue and a poem written in the 19th century. Brussels, Belgium is full of famous statues that depict young people taking a whiz in public!

I think we would all like to avoid tragedies such as the ones you point out. And The administration may need to make exceptions in some cases. Doesn't mean that the policy itself is unconstitutional or even wrong.

I suggest you tell Trump to take it down then.....least he & his staff appear inconsistent. But thank the good lord my ancestors were able to see it as they came in from the depravity of Europe (being chased, burned out, starved & shot)---for them, Lady Liberty was a inspiration & a confidence builder. Of course, doesn't matter much these days, but to them it was a Godsend.

Lewis, forgive my ramblings.....my family arrived in America a little before WWll, we escaped to America seeking refuge from political & religious persecution, as well as the freedom to pursue our dreams so I feel obligated to stand on their shoulders & speak for them.Further, a number of men in my family have faught, died & were wounded---some suffering loss of limbs, eyes, suffered dibilitating PTSD (then called shell shock) so this country could provide the liberties afforded to them. However Americans moral foundation has been crumbling for sometime & it is truly frightening, especially to those who fought to protect the freedom & liberties of this country. Today, as it was for nearly 2700 years ago in the days of the prophet Isaiah 5:21, evil is called good & good is called evil. I seriously don't believe that any politician will ever be able to provide us with any true comfort & protection--That's God's job, not theirs. I truly believe though that the prophet Micah provides us Christians with with the solution to America's dilemma's IE, (Micah 6:8). That is what will restore us to being the envy of the world. Think about it if you would.

Doesnt matter. Its how we behave that matters. Do they have a large statue in their property that makes the statement ..... Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore?
Very good points. Which I would say is all the more reason to make sure these people really love the American way of life before just letting them in.

Fair enough EWF, and thanks for the testimonial. I admire immigration stories such as this. I would also point out that the US takes in about 80,000 refugees each year, and contributes more to United Nations Humanitarian Crisis Relief than any other country. I don't think it is wrong or unchristian to set limits. After all, there is an entire book of the Bible containing instruction on being prudent :Wink

Yes well, in speaking about this particular executive order, there was ambiguity as to Green Card holders...you can easily do a search on line to view it.That ambiguity in itself sets a dangerous precedent.

Did you see see Schumer crying as he was spewing out lies to the American people? Never heard a peep out of him when Hillary Clinton said the same things about vetting on the campaign trial nor when Obama banned Iranian refugees in 2011.

Just shows the influence of Hollywood on the D leaders; they have learned well.
Just like William C at some guy's funeral years ago when Bill suddenly saw a camera looking at him & went, instantaneously from joviality to "weeping"!
Talk about hypocrites!!!!!

Does anyone remember any protest in 2011 when Obama banned anyone from coming in from Iraq for six months?

No. And another question is why is it when liberals don't get their way they hold protests which at times are nothing more than riots?

I tried to contact a few Pastors about rallies supporting legal and lawful assembling but none were interested. I guess some of us have better things to do than go to Washington DC, and some of us, who have been there...have no intention of going.

God bless.

The left's answer for not saying a peep about Obama's ban is that it was an immediate threat with Iraq. Hey I just learned something new, Terrorism is not an immediate threat to us! Wonder where i have been these past 15 years......

So Obama chimes in today and pushes the lie that this is a ban on a religion. How sad and pathetic......

What about all those foreign men who helped us fight in Iraq? Should we deny them entrance into our country?

Oh that's right, they have been waiting for three or four, even five years already and they still have not been cleared. Oh, but that would be the Obama administration, can't protest Mr O. No tears shed for them....
