ktn4eg, let's look at the whole chapter of Psalm 5:
Psa. 5:1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Josh.24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Psa. 37:23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
You can read thoughout the OT and find where Israel(12 tribes of Jacob) rebelled against God, and they were placed into bondage by different countries. By their rebellion, God removed His hand from them, and they were "fair game" to their enemies. But, as soon as they pleaded from their hearts, He came in and rescued them. I think that this is a good example of what was written in verse five. As long as we will do His will, we will be a.o.k. But whenever we rebel against Him, watch out!!
Here is my final verse I will place in this thread, and I feel it's a doozy!!
1 Pet. 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
I pray that this helps!!
