    LOL!

That video is the most rediculous thing i've seen! what a disgrace to Jesus Christ AND hip hop!

first of all - the beat is bad
second - the guy needs vocal training
third - there's sexual movements like that of Jason Mraz in his music video of "geek in the pink" (secular artist)
four - the rhyming wasn't all that great - and obviously wasn't written by a true hip-hop artist - which is very noticeable
five - its for the purpose driven church

the only good things i got out of there were the great dance moves!

    1) the burning bush
    2)part the red sea
    3)push 'em two by two

the last one i dont like though 4)the walls of jericho (too sketchy)
    ---

so down with the purpose driven theology - and up with corny dance moves!

I think that if somebody were to ask him about this, Schaap might say that technically, he did not call Hyles the "God-man". I also think that you cannot objectively watch that video and have any other thought than First Baptist is engaging in their favorite pasttime, hero worship.

The rousing cheers for the names of Hyles and Schaap by the teenagers made me nauseous. I think it's shameful that FBC allows, accepts and encourages that sort of thing.

I had hoped that Schaap would break away from the hero worship that Hyles instituted, but that obviously hasn't happened. I am curious about how somebody from FBC would defend this video.

It doesn't look like something Paul would classify as a "spiritual song."

Watching the video twice, I don't believe Schaap was referring to Hyles as a "god man". I believe he states that his church was not built by a man (Hyles)...but the "God Man" (Jesus Christ). The picture of Jack Hyles did add to the confusion, though.

We wonder why people dislike the trust. Calling people fools and names. Warren preaches Christ. It might not be in your fave. style. but he preaches Jesus and the cross.

Schaap is relying on the audience of the video to know who the God-Man is without explicitly stating it. I can see that point, because the intended audience isn't the unsaved, who aren't going to know who the God-Man is, and probably aren't going to watch the video anyway. But, it wouldn't have taken that much more effort to be more explicit about the point in the first place. It opens a door of confusion and allegations of hero worship, and those could have easily been avoided. Of course, I doubt that FBC/Schaap care that much about what anybody on this board says.

Not only that.... Anyone who places Jack Hyles even in the same room, ballbark, city, ect..... With J. Frank Norris. Has a screw loose if you ask me. Hyles couldn't hold a candle to Norris. Not in this Lifetime.

Oh Horse Hockey! Ricky Warren Preaches a "Rock and Roll" Christianity, that is TOTALLY devoid of ANY Separation from the World. further more his Liberal version of the Gospel is questionable at best. When he starts dressing like a preacher and starts using God's Preserved Word. Then I Might respect him, until then, He's just another Apostate Heretic in my book.

    WD,

    Two brief points:
-"dressing like a preacher" is nowhere in Scripture. John the Baptist would probably be an "Apostate Heretic" in your book to, with his attire.
-I bet you're miserable when folks get along, aren't you? I've about had enough of you trashing the SBC. Don't be one.

Please tell me which of the followin is heresey:

    ABOUT GOD
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
    Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

    ABOUT MAN
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God´s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin". This attitude separates man from God.
    Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

    ABOUT ETERNITY
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
    John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

    ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven´s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.
    Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

    ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God´s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin´s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
    Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

    ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
    John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

    ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
    2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

    ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God´s word to all men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
    2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

since the Bible is, as you say, ' it is truth without any mixture of error', why was it necessary to make more than 80 different versions that contradict each other so much?

I daresay there are many more than merely 80 versions of the Bible around the world . And most of them agree with one another ( despite different wording ) to a rather great extent . At least from my reading of 20 or so of them from just the English language they have more in common than otherwise -- all things considered .

I guess for the same reason the 1611 KJV was updated some 150 years (or so) later.

But, we're off topic. I'm still waiitng for the Windork to show me heresey in that doctrinal statement and tell me how a preacher should dress. Of that, I am concerned. I am a preacher, and I do want to make sure I dress like one ;-)

Fortunitely for all us who don't use "God's Preserved Word" (I'm assuming you mean the KJV1611), it's not your "book" we're trying to measure up to. In fact, I doubt Rick Warren cares at all about your lack of respect.

And, as others have asked, how is a preacher supposed to dress so that they will measure up to your "book" and gain your respect?

Let me guess, you're not a pastor??

How about dressing like John Bunyon.... notice the hair:

    Or apostle Paul:

    Or what about Jesus:

You see, if any of the three walked into a lot of churches today, they would be asked to leave... of at least the preacher would preach on hair length, or that a proper preacher/christian should wear a suit and tie to church.

I don't want to get too far into this without hearing a response from Windork, but what get's me about "dressing like a preacher" is that short of dressing modestly, any other expectation of dress for a preacher (or other Christian for that matter) is not from scripture but rather from custom. Wouldn't that be wordly?

I think those with discenrment can see what is really at work here. There are those with such bitter passion against a fellow church and pastor that they will take any opportunity to attack. The video of the OP was clearly a joke but nonetheless became cannon fodder. Further, we see that the thread has become opportunity for people to jump on their other soapboxes: anti-Rick Warren, and KJVO.

I am curious about the this passion for disuinity. If we must, for the sake of unity, set aside this discussion, the let's. After all, from what I have read of Windork, we both serve Christ. He in a church that suits him, myself in a church that suits me.
