It looks like even die-hard right-wing Fox News is bailing out on Trump.

FOX NEWS
At their joint press conference, President Putin was calculated and in control. Conversely, President Trump seemed to lack authority, praising Putin when he should have been condemning him, and ceding opportunities to confront Putin on his most egregious actions of the past decade – including meddling in the 2016 election and the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Crucially, there were no concessions from Russia on any of the issues that needed to be addressed. Even more concerning, Trump was unwilling to even make the United States’ case on these issues, and the failure to hear concessions from Putin mirrors the lack of follow-through on the grand promises of the recent North Korean summit with another murderous authoritarian, Kim Jong Un.

Despite each nation backing different sides in the Syrian conflict, Trump suggested he and Putin would begin working in conjunction to bring humanitarian aid to the people of Syria, regardless of the fact that the need for humanitarian aid largely stems from Putin’s unabashed support for Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad.

Additionally, Trump also failed to address the concerns of our NATO allies Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in the Baltics regarding the territorial threats they persistently face.

Most importantly, on election meddling, Trump refused to stand with U.S. intelligence and charge Putin with interference, saying he doesn’t “see any reason why it would be” the Russians carrying out the illegal meddling.

For a sitting U.S. president to say publicly that he believes a foreign leader over his own intelligence team is shocking and admonishable. At a time when our democracy faces grave threats, it is deeply troubling that the president would side with the very country who attacked us.

Additionally, Trump’s failure to distinguish between campaign collusion and Russia’s blatant attack on our democracy allowed Putin to sow more discord during the press conference.

“Could you name a single fact that would definitely prove the collusion? This is utter nonsense, just like the president recently mentioned,” Putin told a reporter.

Trump, and our country for that matter, can only win against Putin if we are assertive about American goals and our values. President Trump failed to accomplish that on Monday.

Instead of standing up to Putin, Trump offered to cooperate with Russia on some of the very issues that Russia is causing.

As some very wise analysts have noted, this strategy is like allowing a criminal to investigate his own crimes. It is foolish and naive and President Trump must simply do better going forward.

John Brennan: Trump news conference performance 'nothing short of treasonous'

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...ing-short-of-treasonous/ar-AAAa1LW?li=BBnb7Kz

Former CIA Director John Brennan called President Donald Trump's performance at Monday's news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin "nothing short of treasonous."

At the news conference following his one-on-one meeting Putin in Helsinki, Finland, Trump declined to endorse the US intelligence community's assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 election over Putin's denial, saying the Russian President was "extremely strong and powerful" in his denial.

"Donald Trump's press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of 'high crimes & misdemeanors.' It was nothing short of treasonous," Brennan, a frequent critic of Trump, tweeted during the event. "Not only were Trump's comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???"

Brennan served as director of the CIA from 2013 through January 2017.

The writer of the op/ed is Dave Schoen - that guy worked on several D campaigns but he's usually spot on but this time he seems hysterical and over-dramatic. It really isn't that big of a deal that Trump didn't challenge Putin but if he had of, the left would be screeching about how rude and unstatesmanlike Trump is.

Schoen's piece is very well-written and fun to read, but you have to keep in mind that he was the 2016 election equivalent of John Al-Brennan, except Dave didn't vote for this communist:

quote-the-christians-are-always-singing-about-the-blood-let-us-give-them-enough-of-it-let-gus-hall-74-59-60.jpg

and there were other people on the ballot that year he could've voted for but he had to pick the one guy who had been in jail for truing to overthrow the government. Brennan is one cornered rat these days.

Your "bible" Fox news and EVERYBODY else came out against TRUMP. He's is a traitor and needs to be dealt with as such.
People look and listen and know intuitively that Trump is no traitor.
In addition they will take another look at you - as one who has accused him of this.

Actually, all I myself heard Trump say was that Putin had insisted that he was innocent. The rest is just neo-con, Rino, and Dem hysteria. Ron Paul complemented Trump. The Dems are trying to cover up the fact that Putin implied that Hillary got $400,000,000 instead of the $145,000,000 that she admitted to and no doubt Putin had some illuminating details for Trump about Obama's perfidy. We need a good relationship with Russia to avoid war and to check the growing Chinese military threat and the Chinese recalcitrance in denuclearizing North Korea.

Please specify the "crime" you attribute to him (Trump)!
Treason is a harsh accusation that the left LOVES to toss around simply because they LOST!!
Remember, your hero is the one that said "Elections have consequences", so put on your big-boy pants and live with it like we had to do with your hero for 8 L-O-N-G years.

1 Secret treaty w/Iran
2 Pallets of cash secretly (oops, somebody leaked a picture of it) flown to Iran
3 "I'll have more flexibility after the election"
4 Bowing to the Arabian prince/king/ruler/whatever indicating himself a subject rather than a President
5 "I have a pen and a phone" yada, yada, yada, ad infinitum!!!

Correct and this information is all over the social media where common folk (the ones who win the elections) go to get persuaded.

If President Trump had been stern with Putin the media would be saying that he was an insane warmonger bent on destroying the world. ...And you'd be posting such and leading the charge. ;) The fact is Trump has been far harder on Russia than any president since Reagan. Your "EVERYBODY" else :Rolleyes appear to me to be little more than a few hating liars and those who love lies...and a happy wish.

No matter what Trumps says now about the Helsinki meeting will be accepted by the progressive left.

They will, with their ignorance of the dynamics of human nature only add to his popularity by these phony ploys on the emotions of the masses.

The "Right" doesn't care what Trump does. As he said before the election, hje could murder someone in the middle of 5th Ave. at noon and not lose any followers. good luck supporting an enemy of the U.S. and the worst American President in history.

I'm glad to hear that you're now calling Fox News "a few hating liars." that's been my perception of them for a long time.

Apparently you only hear what you want to and have to work pretty hard to draw that out of what I actually said.

If you'd like to honest here is my real point and I'm curious if you'd like to address this truth or deny it?
