Watching someone go down a destructive path is not kind or loving. Such is Spinoza.I make a plea for all of us to be kind to each other. We don't know what someone is going through, so we need to be loving.

No, but everybody is at a different place in their lives. We all need to remember that.Watching someone go down a destructive path is not kind or loving. Such is Spinoza.
Indeed. But a couple of things. One, you are not exactly the one to comment on that considering the way you troll and mock those who have a view of the atonement different than yours without regard to how that might damage them. And two, there are many things written to help those in time of grief. Spinoza is not one of them. Acting as if all paths are wonderfully the same in our journey through life is modern BS (to use someone else's terminology). No, but everybody is at a different place in their lives. We all need to remember that.
Now stop that, turn the other cheek, love your enemy… in short, honor Christ. Life is to short for that nonsense. The devil will alway attempt to lure ya in. Don’t let him. What I am encouraging is grace toward hurting people. But you are apparently devoid of that quality. Don't be surprised that when you meet your Creator face-to-face, that He doesn't recognize you.
It's easy to sit anonymously behind a computer and call me a piece of crap. I bet you wouldn't call me that in person. If you did, you'd regret it. Wish there was a way to make that happen.
Look, I have no desire to have a war with you. You can think what you choose about me. I just was saying, and hoping, that we all could be less critical and more empathetic to people in their trials and tribulations -- which we all have. But that's just it. You don't know anything about me. And I don't think it's wise to share personal things on a public forum. I respect the right of those who do and if you two go way back and truly have a personal relationship then I hope you can help. But Spinoza was brought up on a public forum and not in any context of wanting or asking for consideration of personal issues. It seems patronizing to pretend that Spinoza was not an enemy both to Christianity and apparently Judaism as well, on account of someone's personal trials - which EWF did not invoke into the discussion anyway.
Well, that's good enough for me then. No problem.Look, I have no desire to have a war with you. You can think what you choose about me. I just was saying, and hoping, that we all could be less critical and more empathetic to people in their trials and tribulations -- which we all have.
Yes. I guess if you read him and then reject him though you are not intellectually curious. If anyone takes Spinoza out for a spin, the drive will end up at the Marxist cafe, serving the "blue plate special," Deism with all the trimmings.
Those that claim to be able to know the unstated attributes of others, like mind-readers, seem to lack any understanding of scripture. Yes, I did intend to suggest with the "blue plate special" to bring to mind the garbage being espoused by blue state politicians.Yes. I guess if you read him and then reject him though you are not intellectually curious.
