The point is that these things have always happened. They always will. Because the return of Christ has always been and will always be imminent.
We are not in some kind of special time. 200 years from now they may look back on us and say -'They only thought it was close, but NOW it really is time!'
From day one believers have looked for His return - and that is as it should be.
I say the prophecy is being fulfilled.
