It's obviously a valid question, then: Do you think anyone who gets angry with someone else is guilty of murder and should face a murder sentence?

    2 Cor 2.
5 ΒΆ But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
    10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

I said I would bow out of this thread, but since this question is of a different nature I will answer it.

Yes, anger that is out of control and fueled by hate can be judged as murder, because the Lord said so. But, not all anger is sin.

    Ephesians 4
26 "Be angry, and do not sin":* do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil.

Surely, you wouldn't expect a wife to stay with a husband who beats her? This type of anger has given place to the devil and is sin.

Getting angry because of an injustice (persecution of the innocent, abortion, ect.) is not sin, but can be the fuel for change. But, even this anger has to be controlled so that it does not lead to sin.

"Do not let the sun go down on your wrath" means there's a limit to how angry we are to allow ourselves to get. Left alone, anger will grow and grow and become hate and hate can lead to murder.

well, Ive read the first page or so of this thread, and now the last page, and since a couple other ladies have said bye-bye because it's too graphic, Im not going to read the other pages......but I wanted to put a word in about a possible help for this couple.

Btstarcher, if you are still reading this, I suggest you go to a Reformers Unanimous near you, and really work on this. You said you still have temptations, RU will teach you (BIBLICALLY) how to be rid of this for good. If you AND your wife attend it will help her also, in more ways than I can list here.

You said you've gotten this problem dealt with, and I can do nothing but take you at your word. However, your wife is not going to believe you for a very long time. That is just the nature of the sin you've been dealing with. Sometimes it takes much longer for the wife to overcome it than for the husband. You know that you've overcome, but she's not in your mind so she doesn't know that.

A Reformers Unanimous group will help both of you deal with this, become closer to Christ TOGETHER, and ultimately move on together.

I hope you can do this........

No comments about the specific case, that is for private restoration. However, as a general observation, those of you who said that this is grounds for divorce because it is adultry, get the plank out of your own eye first. Every person on this thread is guilty of adultery by thought at least. Just because your spouse cannot see your thoughts does not make it any less of a sin in God's eyes than one who pays for internet pornography.

The very premise of the question is this grounds for divorce, misses the entire point of Scripture. God declares in Mal 2:16 I hate divorce. The idea is restoration, not finding a legal way out.

If some of you on this board experienced cheating from you spouse and were not able to restore the marriage, that is something I wish you could have worked out. However, if this case can be restored, dont be resentful of it. Those who write posts like they are free of this sin, get a new self perspective. I have been married 30 years, and it takes work, growing together daily in Christ. To those who act like you have never committed adultry by your high minded posts, you are full of baloney.

    saturnneptune,

just because one man might lust after a woman in his heart, thereby committing adultery, does not mean all men lust after women. Your theology that all who say they have not committed adultery is baloney is nothing but idiocy.

According to your reasoning there are a lot of people growing in sin because 2/3 of the population is overweight. I doubt that was a probelm when theyt were 10 years old.

Everybody has temptations and sins that easily entangle them. They will most likely have to deal with those temptations while others may not be so eaily entangles by the same thing.

It is discipline and focusing on Christ the author and perfecter of faith that rids one of the temptations and fills their mind with godly things.

If the truth were really known there would be a lot more men and women than anyone could imagine who have the same trouble. A friend of mine worked at a hotel when a evangelical Baptist group of pastors had a conference and they sold more pay per view HBO then then at any other time.

Her real problem is not you, but God. She stated that she knows it is wrong but does not want to be obedient to God. she is just using you as an excuse toi get rid of soemthing that is hard and requires work. Sounds just like Judas and Jesus.

One of my relatives was just like you and began to have some serious troubles with pornography. That led him to getting help and giving his life to Christ. He now leads a ministry in helping other men to deal with the same problem. He is tough on them and finds that often they are not always so willing to admit their sin. He tells me that when they do it is the beginning of healing.

People that want to get divorced will use any excuse they want to justify their reasoning.

Prov. 17:10, "A rebuke goes deeper into one who has understanding than a hundred blows into a fool"

One who is a fool will not listen and goes by their own judgment instead of what God wants.

Prov. 12:15, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel."

Prov. 18:2, "A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind."

Prov. 26:12, "Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him."

You know, I am really getting tired of seeing that silly eagle bobbing its head back and forth on your posts on some kind of holy perch while you dictate to others what they are doing wrong in comparison to your perfection.

You sir are a flawed human being just like the rest of us. The only thing that make you righteous is Jesus Christ. For you to sit there and claim never a lustful thought is a mockery.

And while we are on the subject, since you like to throw the name of idiocy around, the idea you presented in another thread to claim you know for a certainty who is and is not saved is fatally flawed. That is the nicest term I can think of to use, since rules of this forum prohibit the use of the term heresey, so I will not say that.

Why dont you teach that eagle to turn its head 360 degrees. It would be much more entertaining.

You fall short in several of the fruits of the Spirit. Go down the list of nine and see where you stand.

Speaking of not showing fruit... maybe you need to examine yourself before accusing the brethren.

I do know what it means, gb. It means to covet her, to desire her. Not every man looks at a woman like that. There are many that God has taken that away from.

Let me ask you, what about one who is blind, who has never seen what a woman looks like? What about one who is mentally challenged who may be in his 20's or 30's who is mentally challenged and only has the mind of a little child of 6 or 7?

I daresay that there are hundreds if not thousands who fit the category who have never lusted for a woman.

Saying because one may have a problem with lust means all must have the same problem is the same as saying because on person in this world is a murderer, all are murderers.

Wow, 6.5 Billion people on earth. 3.25 Billion men and there may by hundreds or even thousands who fit the category you speak of.

With those percentages, generalizations are in order. If you fit into that small small percentage then good for you.

But it is, by your own admision a very small %.
