I am writing a historical fiction short story. I have a Russian Orthodox parish priest and his family. There are two sons in their mid-20s. Can I have them be their father's assistant pastors?

Off the topic of the thread, but of interest to current events. While I was living in Trenton, NJ, there were two eastern rite Ukrainian Churches. One was Ukrainian Orthodox and the other was Eastern Rite Ukrainian Catholic. I visited the Divine Liturgy of both churches and the only difference I could differentiate in worship was that the Eastern Rite Catholic priests son read the prayers of intercession which included a prayer for the Pope.
It is my understanding that the pews of these churches are filled to capacity and people are standing on the sides praying for safety and peace for Ukraine.

In reading about the question at hand, I found that in the mid 17th century, it education for the priesthood in the ROC was usually an apprenticeship situation. Sons had an easier time of it.
