The scriptures rest upon Jesus Himself, and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of prophecy, not Ellen White!

She is not the Spirit of Prophecy - but early in her life she wrote some material that was compiled into two volumes and title "The Spirit of Prophecy" to point out that she was not the author just one of God's servants.

The Sda denies the suffiency of the Bible, !

Not true in real life.

1. In real life we affirm actually "reading" -- the Bible and testing all doctrine against it. You might want to consider that as a good idea.

2. In real life the Bible says to listen to God's prophets instead of ignoring them as if that is what the Bible says - is pleasing to God

Deny eternal hell, eternal life

More falsehood and creative writing on your part as you continue to "quote you".

Hell is literal torment of the literal wicked in literal fire and literal brimstone where as Matt 10:28 points out God is able to "destroy BOTH body AND soul in fiery hell" --

Bible details matter --- still... even if you don't read them.

And of course - eternal life - is life unending for all eternity -- not sure how you get confused on that point.

Deny etrnal security, as one can believe in jesus, but fail test after life and lose it all

OSAS is false doctrine according to Christ in Matthew 18
‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. 35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

OSAS is false doctrine according to Paul in Romans 11
"you stand only by your faith.. fear for if He did not spare them He may not spare you either"

OSAS is false doctrine according to Paul in Hebrews 6

OSAS is false doctrine according to Paul in 1 Cor 9
"I buffet my body and make it my slave lest after preaching the Gospel to others I myself should be disqualified from it"

OSAS is false doctrine according to Paul in 1 Cor 6

that seems to be non Bilbical to me!

That can happen if you don't take the time to read the Bible.

In light of our conversation, i spoke on the fact He is presented as a *mere example* in some sects.
You really have devalue Jesus to think his "mere example" is worthless and devoid of his life and ministry.

If you want to just say its wrong for people to think they can get to heaven by themselves, say that then.

To say in his example alone is to say IN CHRIST ALONE and is far from achieving salvation by yourself.

I want to know what price you put on his "MERE example" next someone will call it pathetic example or useless example.

His "mere example" is worth more then all life, eternal or not.

You and your buddy said: "If Christ is just my example, that is the worst news I could imagine,"

Of course it would be to faithless who couldn't expect to learn to tie their own shoe from Christ example.

You believe example of GOD needs MORE HELP to help you.

You think you are greater then God, That you are way better at being a bad student then God is a good teacher.

Great list, and I would agree with 1, 4,5,6, and 7. It seems that 2 and 3 could be said of anyone,

which is the problem with making stuff up

Dark Ages was full of making stuff up combined with name calling.

Protestant reformation "happened anyway".

How sad that some are drifting back to the ways of those who opposed the Christian church when it was being started and opposed the Protestants as they were starting.

How "instructive"

some pretty good points in that post Utilyan

1 John 2
3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

Do you believe "baptists" are ensnared, to some degree, by the RCC?

Not "enslaved"

The RCC has published statements saying as much about "inconsistency" in the non-Catholic sola-scriptura groups that then adopt doctrine and practice on the "say-so" of the Catholic church.

Are they right? Maybe we should look at those statements.

These are my flags for identifying a cult

1. There is a notable "face" of the cult; A person who can be considered the "leader"--usually with writings additional to the Scriptures
2. The said cult identifies themselves as the "True/Faithful Church"
3. The said cult identifies all other groups as misled/unfaithful
4. The said cult has special revelation that other groups do not have
5. The said cult usually emphasizes Law

All true of the Christian church.

"Do we then make void the LAW of God? on the contrary we ESTABLISH the LAW" Rom 3:31
"what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of God" 1 Cor 7:19
"the saints KEEP the Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus" Rev 14:12
the wicked "do not submit to the LAW of God neither indeed CAN they" Romans 8:4-10
The "NEW Covenant... I will write My LAW on their heart and on their mind" Hebrews 8:6-12
"honor your father and mother for this is the FIRST COMMANDMENT with a promise" Eph 6:2 - direct appeal to the TEN
"these things I write that you SIN NOT" 1 John 2:1
"Sin IS transgression of the LAW" 1 John 3:4

It is dangerous to make stuff up and then find that it is flatly refuted by scripture.

Actually, it's more than one question.

Do you believe that Ellen G White had the spiritual gift of prophesy as in
Corinthians 14:1-12?
yes

More than that... I believe the doctrines as listed on the Seventh-day Adventist web site. The 28 Fundamental Beliefs - that would be true with or without Ellen White's messages.

your entire villainizing and accuser of the brethren name calling campaign against the person - Ellen White is a wast of time if your intent is to make a dent on Adventist Bible doctrine. You have to 'read' - to study the Bible and make an actual case.

But Ellen White's messages are the core of the SDA's doctrine. Without her, there would be no SDA.

But why you would believe one person who came on the scene in the 1800's and accept their visions as gospel is beyond me. In the Catholic faith we have our mystics, but their "visions" do not rise to the level of bona fide Church teaching and doctrine as we have the amalgamation of over 2000 years of Church teachings that came/come before any of our mystics' visions from Christ.

Why her, why not Charles Taze Russell or Joseph Smith who peddled their wares around the same time? False prophets my friend, false prophets - and the Scriptures warn us of them.

There are no degrees of such inspiration among prophets. Inspiration is inspiration. I would not dare to compare the inspiration of Moses to that of Daniel, or to that of Ezekiel, or to that of Jeremiah, or to that of Hosea, Amos, Malachi or even to those mentioned that have no book in scripture; or to Peter, James or John, or Paul. Jesus came as a man. Yet He is the chief "Prophet" of them all, and the Holy Spirit was given to Him without measure. Yet, we may have the same.
Ellen White was NOT a prophet of the Lord, as those revelations from God ceased when John passed away! Sign of a true prophet would be that their messages/teachings fully agree withe the scriptures. but hers did not!

As long as I was convinced that the Bible doctrine is correct and I already know this is the only denomination with that full set of doctrine - I would stay - just like a few million Adventists over in Europe are staying even though they have downsized their confidence in what God told Ellen White. In general among Adventists - the less they study their Bibles - the less they affirm the insights God gave Ellen White.
You do not deluded Mormons/JW/Catholics say exact same thing, correct?

We are also instructed to "test the spirits". And, what do we use as a measure? God's Holy Word, of course. Understanding it is understanding the many errors of the false prophet, Ellen White, and the cult of the SDA.

I wish the Sda would just come clean and admit that they are the true Church, and salvation rests upon EW teachings

Deception is a cult's stock in trade. You won't get an honest answer.
