"Some speak of their fear of offending those who do not want to hear when the real problem is not our fear of offending others, it is our fear of others offending us."--Clarence Sexton, Won by One, pp. 12-13.

1Co 1:26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
1Co 1:27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;
1Co 1:28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
1Co 1:29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

Amen, nunatak!

“A soul-winner can do nothing without God. He must cast himself on the Invisible, or be a laugh-stock, to the Devil, who regards with utter disdain all who think to subdue human nature with mere words and arguments.”—Charles Spurgeon

No problem. I was wondering when someone would get to that! :laugh:

Of course it's such a great and true quote, we could put it on here a couple more times, too.:thumbs:

"If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then nothing is too hard for me to do for Him."--C. T. Studd, missionary to India, China and Africa.

Studd was broken in health back home in England after years on the mission field when he heard a missionary from Africa say, "Cannibals want missionaries." That sent him to his third mission field, even with his poor health.

Concerning missionary deputation by faith missionaries--"There may be some places you won't get paid out of, but there is no church where you won't get prayed out of.--Missionary Mel Rutter

Brother Rutter was unique! What a good man he was. We were in a missionary conference with him shortly after we were married, and he learned that Patty was a Yankee though I was from Tennessee. He suggested we should have said "Sho' nuff" instead of "I do!" Brother J. B. Williams of Baptist Mid-Mission suggested we should have said, "Ah does."
