Today the Church has lost a great teacher who made the complex simple. A man who has enriched my life, and caused my faith in Christ to grow immeasurably is with his Savior.

Thank you, Dr Sproul! Thank you for your work and dedication to the gospel.

We talk about predestination because the Bible talks about predestination. If we desire to build our theology on the Bible, we run head-on into this concept. We soon discover that John Calvin did not invent it. - R.C. Sproul

Natural man’s sin is precisely this: He wants the benefits of God without God Himself. - R.C. Sproul

When there’s something in the Word of God that I don’t like, the problem is not with the Word of God, it’s with me. - R. C. Sproul

Sin is not simply making bad choices or mistakes. Sin is having the desire in our hearts to do the will of the enemy of God. - R.C. Sproul

Why do bad things happen to good people? That only happened once and He volunteered. - R.C. Sproul

Best response ever to the complaint that God is too harsh in His punishment for sin.

That is great TCassidy. I agree with Dr. Sproul - we have NO clue who God is and who we are - and the severity of sin and the magnitude of God's holiness. SOOOO true.

The number one problem in Evangelical Christianity today: We don't know anything about the holiness of God.

The number two problem in Evangelical Christianity today: We don't know anything about the sinfulness of man.

If and when we get even the slightest idea about these two things, we instantly become Calvinists.

He wrote in what's called a popular style --theology made understandable to ordinary folks.

His books were very important to me in the early and mid 80s. I used to get Table Talk too. Then there were also film clips.

I think his spoken delivery was made just like his mentor --John Gerstner (1914-1996)

I will miss him.
