She told a lot of lies and took advantage of things that she was not entitled to. She should face criminal charges but then Cherokee Woman did the same thing and she became a US Senator so Dolezal should get elected to office in liberal Washington. Afterall, she lied for a good reason....

Cool that you brought Fauxchahontas up. We can now be pretty confident that Liz Warren will NEVER run for president. Lie=awatha will relegated to sideline cheer squad, and 2nd row agitator statuses.

This is a win for the good guys, today.

Apparently the NAACP does not need a token white person. So much for Affirmative Action.

Well, I'm surprised she held out this long. I think there's a huge psychological factor going on with Rachel here but this whole incident ought to put the far-left myth of white privilege to rest.

Either she is lying, or she is a few bearded ladies short of a freakshow.

It turns out that she sued Howard University for discrimination against her for being white.

Also, she copied some Turner paintings and wants 5 grand for them. She is a rip-off artist of major caliber.

Heard a comment from a Black talk show host (don't remember his name) that this just proves that all the garbage of white privilege is a myth - otherwise why would she CHOOSE to be black??????
Very astute observation I think!:thumbsup:

There are thousands of light skinned black women who everyday "pass" for white. Haven't seen any stories on that.

I think the only reason this is news is because subconsciously white folks want to know why a blond-haired , blue-eyed white lady would want to be Black as though there is something wrong with being Black?

Who cares? If she wants to be Black, then be Black.

Next story.

Some of us folks who fear God celebrate when liars are found out. This woman hurt people. She has victims. This story has far-reaching political implications.

I cares. That's who. And that's enough to start a discussion about it.

Yes it is rare in this day and age that the truth comes to the surface in such a way, I could really care less what she wants to identify herself as. But its all about the lack of integrity, double standard, and she should and is being called on it.

If she wants to be black - be black?

Zaac, there is nothing wrong with a white person who was raised with all black siblings or having majority black classmates or friends identifying with the black culture to the point that they incorporate much of it into their lives. There are white people who live "black" but keep their whiteness open to the community.

And yes, many light-skinned black women can and have passed for white. But their passing, historically, has been done naturally.

Rachel has darkened her make-up and worn fake hair: sew-ins, fake dread locks, and more. She is dressing up as black to deceive people. Her own black adopted brother calls what she has done as “blackface”. She gave a lecture once on the history of “our” hair. Really? It’s not her hair.

And she gets the benefits of pretending to be a light skinned black woman – and if you don't know, the social issues between the dark girls/women and the light girls/women in the black community are historic, chronic, and hurtful. She has no right to pretend to be a warrior in that painful battle of skin tones that society forces black women into.

She donned blackness as a superficial costume. She reduced being a black woman to having fuzzy hair and dark skin.

Why couldn’t she, as a white woman who identified with the black community, work AS a white woman to further peace and harmony and justice amongst all people? Wow, what a powerful friend she could have been to the black community as someone who could work on bringing races more together.

For you to say that white people are subconsciously believing that something is WRONG with being black and that’s why we find this woman curious shows your misunderstanding of white people. I find her odd because she’s apparently not well.

NOT because she identifies with being black – not because she is trying to “pass” for black, but because she has hurt many black people, especially women, in this and she cannot see it. She pleaded with her own brother (adopted brother, Ezra) to not “blow her cover”. She was deceiving people and KNEW she was. She accepted a university scholarship for black women and she has had the police investigate “hate crimes” against her as a “black” woman.

I’m not curious about why this woman would want to embrace a culture that she identifies with. I’m curious as to why she lied about it and deceived people with the INTENT to deceive and now shows no remorse.

I agree Scarlett. If she wants to identify with the black culture as she has for the last 20 something years, I say more power to her.

Not sure what you mean by "naturally".

Again, I don't see a problem other than the lies. If she wants to look black and say that she's black and she has lived her life as a black woman for 20 something years, who cares how she did it? Women change their looks with makeup and hairweaves and clipins and lip injections and butt injections and Botox and a whole lot of other stuff that changes their looks without telling people that they are doing it.

She donned blackness as a superficial costume. She reduced being a black woman to having fuzzy hair and dark skin.

Perhaps. I think she's an opportunist who saw an avenue for advancement in helping black people and herself and she took it.

Why couldn’t she, as a white woman who identified with the black community, work AS a white woman to further peace and harmony and justice amongst all people? Wow, what a powerful friend she could have been to the black community as someone who could work on bringing races more together.

Precisely what I said earlier today. MLK Jr and so many of the Civil Rights activist had white people and many people of different ethnicities and nationalities marching beside them. So I don't really understand why she would do what she did other than for personal reasons.

For you to say that white people are subconsciously believing that something is WRONG with being black and that’s why we find this woman curious shows your misunderstanding of white people. I find her odd because she’s apparently not well.

Then that would equally show your misunderstanding of white people because there are plenty of white folks who believe just as I said. I don't think she has to be "not well" to do what she did. She wanted to live as a black woman for whatever her reasons were. That doesn't make her "not well".

NOT because she identifies with being black – not because she is trying to “pass” for black, but because she has hurt many black people, especially women, in this and she cannot see it. Black women will be just fine. They aren't harping on this lady living as a black woman for the last 20 something years. The white media is.

She got a scholarship. Good for her. She also did a lot for black people in her time as NAACP President in Spokane.

Police officers are murdering unarmed black people and getting away with it. Black people aren't gonna get stuck on Rachel Dolezal.

I’m not curious about why this woman would want to embrace a culture that she identifies with. I’m curious as to why she lied about it and deceived people with the INTENT to deceive and now shows no remorse.

I say do a DNA test. Maybe she is part black . She's been living as a black woman for 20 something years. She hasn't been trying to deceive anyone. She was just living her life.

As I said earlier, I don't believe she is "not well" because she lived as a black woman. I said that because she lied, believed her life herself, and made herself into a victim many times over without paying the price that victims pay.

There are many angry black women who don't like this at all.

Have you actually read anything she's said .... what her parents have said .... what her black siblings have said? She isn't black. She lied with the intent to deceive. She asked her brother to "cover" for her.

Who cares? If she wants to be Black, then be Black.

And if Bruce wants to be a woman, we should affirm him in that delusion as well.

For that matter, I have always felt that I'm really a 7-ft tall basketball player trapped inside the body of 5'8'' guy who can't jump. I want everyone now to start calling me 'Stretch', and I want taxpayers to pay for my surgery as I transition to the tall guy I really am. Failure to affirm me as the tall person I really am will result in me calling them names like "intolerant transmorphophobic bigots"
