What did Abe say?

You can please some of the people all the time
and all the people some of the time
but you cant please all the people all the time.

The phrase itself is not racist. It’s only racist when someone with “white privilege” and too little “intersectionality” uses it.
To be honest, I don't understand you. What do you think about this issue? Is the Latin word "negro " or" nigger "so much worse than the English word "black"? After all, both of these words mean the same color, and they are not an insult.

Here in Russia, by the way, it is precisely that the word "black", expressed in relation to people, can be a real insult.

Well, here in the States - we have a saying "Dont confuse me with the facts - I have made up my mind."

Anotherwords some dont care what the facts are - they just want things done their way.

It seems hard for you to live there? And you don't know what they'll put you in jail for. ))) It seems that the word is a purely scientific term, but it turned out to be "offended" a lot. )))

Not hard to live here - I am used to it.
In fact, I did three tours of duty with the US Army in Germany for a total of 8 1/2 years.
Sometimes I felt, it would be hard to live there without the asserts of the US Army.
When I was in Germany - I lived in US Base housing, bought groceries in the US Commissary and had to PX for all other things we needed.

The reason for the confusion is probably because I was stating how the Progressive Leftists apply the term "racist," not how it should be applied.

They can say and do all manner of things and get away with them, even praise each other for them, but let someone they dislike say or do the same things and they reveal their hypocrisy. Democrat is synonymous with hypocrite.

By the way, when around blacks in America, it’s best not to use the Russian word for Negro, even when speaking Russian, since it’s virtually indistinguishable from “nigger.” The problem with using the latter term is cultural. Context is most important.

Wow, do you "have fun" living? As someone here remarked on the term "African-American", why saying it in the United States means only Blacks, and not whites, too. After all, whites in Africa are not only descendants of European colonizers, but also Arabs (albeit relatively), Copts, and North African Europeans?

For example, I was very surprised and outraged when Russians in the United States complained about harassment by Negroes and accused them of racism, although in Russia there was never any slavery of Negroes.

We had "serfdom" and its victims were the Russians themselves.

Yeah. "Fun" you have.
To understand the “racism” narrative in America, one should know that there are entities bent on creating issues that will divide people. The Dem media works overtime trying to hype the least little incident. Many turn out to be hoaxes, but by the time they are exposed the damage has already been done.

The truth is that America is one of the least racist nations in the world. However, there are many other reasons people can clash or show prejudice. When people of different races encounter such, the tendency is to attribute the issue to race instead of the real one. We sometimes call this "playing the race card."

and that is a very thin line somethimes.

Just like this virus thing.

I call it the Chinesee Virus - some say that is racist. HOW? Chinesee is NOT a race!
They (other Americans) call it Covid 19.

Understood. As for COVID-19, “Communist Chinese Virus” or “CCP Virus” works better for me. :Wink
