OldRegular: "I have looked recently but can't find the source
but I have read that there
have been more Christians martyred in the 20th Century than the
previous 19 together. If someone out there has seen this info would
appreciate the source."

Try searching on Google for:

"Ed Edwards" "Baptist Board" martyrs

The figures are (from memory):

1-19th century (33AD-1900) - 15 Million
20th century (1901-1990) - 25 Million
33AD-1990 ----------- 40 Million

The source is:
Almanac of the Christian World 1991-1992
(Tyndale, 1990)

(sorry if you read other stuff here, i uploaded
the wrong stuff then had to put out
the polycart (trash) for pickup)

I agree that if God judges the United States we Christins will be okay, but that is okay only in eternity. We will still suffer in this life along with every one else in the country, perhaps more than most, because we like the Christians in early Rome may be blamed for what comes.</font>
Agreed. I never intended to say that we would be spared from suffering. In fact, we may be called to it.

If for the sake of our Lord our blood is required of us, let it come. Though we may die now, we shall live forever.

Personal opinion. Just as it is LE's personal opinion that national judgments continue, since there are no Biblical examples of such after 70 A.D.

Ah, here we go:

I found this:
THE ALMANAC OF THE CHRISTIAN WORLD 1991-1992
(Tyndale, 1990):

The figures given on p.502 (for 33AD to 1990AD):

All persons born ----- 34,903 million
Christians ------------ 8,286 million
Christian martyrs -------- 41 million
martyred by Catholics ----- 5 Million

I found it at:
http://www.baptistboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/10/4886/4.html?

Ah, found the book:

Martyrs in 20th Century (1900-1990) - 26,625,000
Martyrs since 1950 (1950-1990) - 9,965,000

Martyred by secular governments AD33-1990 - 24,402,000

I get so tired of people posting nonsense like that. Massachusetts and California and New Orleans are not the entire United States. </font>
Nor did I say they were. But if my opinions offend you, then feel free to add me to your ignore list rather than make up arguments against me based on things I never said.
