"Early one mornin' while makin' the rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and I went to bed
I stuck that lovin' 44 beneath my head"

T.J. "Red" Arnall

(Look him up. I hear he congratulated the Pillsbury Dough Boy on his tan.)

OK, stop posting those black cultural songs that incite them to be violent.

Imagine if those lyrics were superimposed over a rap song. We'd probably have another civil war on our hands.

I don't care what you do, Matt. But whatever you do decide to do, you will never convince me black music is more violent. All that's missing from my songs are the curse words. Same attitude. Same themes. Violence has been a part of music since there has been music.

You do understand that there is more to culture than music, right?

Music is art. There are many forms of art. They all imitate life. Not the other way around.

I'm more interested in exploring why blacks are more likely to be shot dead by the police than any other race. That was my OP. Apparently your contention is that they are shot dead more often because they are more likely to commit violent crimes. Is that it?

But that doesn't fully answer my question. Maybe cops figure they'll just shoot this black guy and arrest this white guy? Is that a possibility?

Absolutely. And this is where things start to get dicey. If it can be shown that Blacks are being shot and killed in situations in which their White counterparts are not, then it could possibly open the door for a discrimination lawsuit. If the prima facie evidence shows a disparate impact to Blacks, the Justice Department should respond.

It's kinda like the example I used a few weeks ago with crack and powder cocaine. There was a disproportionate amount of Blacks being locked up and locked up for much longer sentences than their white counterparts who used cocaine.

It does take your breath away, doesn't it? And then in the next sentence they'll give their testimony for Christ. That's supposed to make people want to become Christians?

Ain't it sad? But I'm beginning to think some of them don't care. They're mad about Obama. And that anger has made them mad about any and all things Black.

But gosh darn. They sure do love Jesus.

Should we start posting lyrics from black rappers? Do you think that I'll lack for examples?

You'd have to bleep half the words, but you could still probably tell they hate cops and think women are a sub species of some sort.

I asked my love to take a walk
Just a little ways with me
And as we walked and we would talk
All about our weddingday

Darling say that you'll be mine
In our home we'll happy be
Down beside where the waters flow
On the banks of the Ohio

I took her by her pretty white hand
I let her down that bank of sand
I pushed her in where she would drown
Lord, I saw her as she floated down

Darling say that you'll be mine
In our home we'll happy be
Down beside where the waters flow
On the banks of the Ohio

Returning home about twelve or one
Thinking "Lord, what a deed I've done?"
I killed the girl I love, you see
Because she would not marry me

Darling say that you'll be mine
In our home we'll happy be
Down beside where the waters flow
On the banks of the Ohio.

Running from the law and shooting at lawmen is a very popular theme in early country & folk music.

Do you know the song about the guy that killed his wife for cheating on him and then fled to live in a cave? I think it's from the 1960's.
