Just wondering...

For those who are not faithful in attendance, what else are you slack in?

Prayer?
Tithes and Offerings?
Witnessing?
Other?

That's a bold assumption to make. You are assuming too much about someone who may not show up on a random Wednesday nights, and unrightfully condemning them as "slacking". I never said that not being faithful in attendance is okay. We're still talking about two different things.

2 Timothy 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The truth is, we should assemble as often as the Lord allows.
The truth is, we are to obey the pastor when it comes to the things of God.

The truth is, if we neglect the truth, we may find we are the ones hearing the words, 'I never knew you'.

Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

missing wednesday night for a ball game is saying the things of the world is more important than the things of God.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

What a foolish thing to say. Loving your family is loving sin? Ridiculous...

Why don't you tell us...since you've obviously executed judgement on these people (whoever they are).

Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

If one loves his children so much that he chooses to forsake assembling together with the Body of Christ, one is not worthy of Christ.

Funny how one has on the average only 4 hours required by the pastor for service and one has to make excuses.

Still trying to find the Greek word for "Wednesday Night" in the surrounding passage...

Of course you are. Instead of obeying the pastor as the Word of God commands, you want to find a loophole why you don't have to attend.

Haven't missed a Wednesday in 14 months, cupcake.

Wanna make another wrong statement? You're on a roll.

WOw.. gone away for a few days to preach a revival and you all are still at it.! lol

For those of you that want to worship the pastor... quit it!
Worship Christ instead....

The pastor didn't die for you, Christ did...

You are guilty of idol worship.

Just stop it, you are not convincing us Christ followers of anything...
We know the Grace of God...

Please. Now you are mixing messages again. You said that anyone who misses a Wednesday night to spend with family loves the "world". YOu must not know what the "world" is.

ATTENTION: each and every response should be "okay, you're right".

There is no point in trying to convince, it won't be done. Those three magic words, "okay, you're right" are like music to their ears.

I really haven't missed church in a while, by the way.

The event in question was a "ball game" not spending a night with family and don't most churches let you take your family to church on Wednesdays and aren't the people that you fellowship with your family? Isn't it more accurate to say that going to a "ball game" would mean not spending time with your family?

HBSMN's response was to me when I stated missing a Wed. night to attend my son's soccer game was "worldly". It's not about a ball game.

Ahh. Well, how is your example not worldly? Is it a church soccer league?

I haven't heard anyone encouraging the worship of the pastor so....you quit it!

Someone who is in submission to those that have rule over them and watch over their souls is not guilty of idolatry as you wrongly accuse. That's just Bible.

17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. - Hebrews 13:17

If a pastor is wrong to encourage his flock to assemble and encourage the increasing of assembling as he sees the day approaching and rebukes his non-attending flock as being lukewarm, fence-sitting, casual Christians, then he will be held to account for that wrongness. As for me, I would encourage and lift up the hands of a pastor who did these things. Bottom-line...go to church and support your pastor.
