We're having a conversation there about the "Counterfit Revival" that's very similar to some of the things you said in your post.
Hagin did, indeed, steal his teachings from Kenyon and, according to D.R. McConnell's book, "A Different Gospel", the Kenyon family is a little upset about it.

At this early point in my Christian walk, I admit I don't investigate all the beliefs of the singers I listen to. I listen for the music, and the serenity it gives me. Granted, some of Carman's stuff is too rowdy and wild for me (he seems to have enough different styles to appeal to a wide range of listners!), but he has, to me, a beautiful voice. Any Carman fans that appreciate the old standard church tunes owe it to themselves to find "30 Classic Hymns." I found it on CD at Circuit City and I listen to that more often than any other CD.

I might like Bing Crosby, but knowing he was an unregenerate Roman Catholic would keep me from wanting a "30 Classic Hymns" recording by him!
I used to like Elvis, but knowing of his godless lifestyle, I feel his gospel recordings were sheer hypocrisy.
When I listen to songs of Zion (be they bluegrass, traditional hymns, or otherwise) I attempt to give my money to the brother/sister/group that at least knows my Savior--not someone who is fleecing the flock of God, or making merchandise of God's people!
There must be a drawing line, or we lose perspective and discernment.

This has nothing to do with the Holy Spirit, Matt. This is about Carman's spreading false doctrine through his music.
With all that you've said about the Holy Spirit, I would think that you, of all people, would see the danger in the WoF movement and the flaws in Carman's doctrine.
This is a guy who wrote a song in tribute to William Branham. WILLIAM BRANHAM, Matt!
This isn't just some peripheral issue like "sprinkling vs. immersion", Branham was a heretic of the highest order.
Branham denied the Trinity, taught that he was one of the angels of Revelation and taught the "serpent seed doctrine", among other false teachings.
How can we take Carman seriously when he's part of a movement that (a)perverts God's word, (b)teaches a false view of the nature of God, (c)the nature of Christ, (d)the nature and role of the Holy Spirit, (e)teaches that Jesus had to suffer in Hell just like any other sinner to save Himself before He could save us, (f) teaches that God has a physical corporeal body, (g) teaches that we can become gods (or, in the case of Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland, that we already ARE gods), (h) teaches that we can create reality simply by wishing it so.
The WoF and much of Carman's doctrine has much more to do with Gnosticism, New Age and Eastern religions and Mormonism than it does with orthodox Christianity.

That's why there are different Translations of the BIBLE, there will alwayz be lost translations, but let me know if you know a preacher that don't contradict himself in the pool pit every now and then aight!!! Check this out I know a preacher that would do anything to keep his members at the church,Well he goes "Homosexuals will not enter the Kingdom of God" and another service he goes "Homosexuals Will Enter the Kingdom of God" knowing that its an abomination but some preachers and doctrines are made off of "PREACHER FEEL GOOD'S" Lettin you know something that you wanna hear or what they think someone wants to hear not thinking that people will catch it just those people. <-----maybe a lil off topic but still trying to prove a point

That's heresy, plain and simple, and anyone who's willing to play games with such an important point of doctrine as the sufficiency of Christ's death and resurection should (a) not be given a place to speak in the church and (b) needs to take a very serious look at their own salvation.
Matt, this is not "stuff". False teaching in the church is just a little more important than that.
The Bible condmens false teaching and those who teach it in very strong terms and constantly warns us to stay away from it and to have nothing to do with false teachers.
There's a big difference between one of the rank and file misunderstanding the finer points of scripture and someone who is proclaimed a teacher purposefully teaching a false gospel, just as there is a world of difference between a pastor who may change his mind on a peripheral issue and one who misrepresents the Gospel.
Things like sprinkling vs. immersion, wine vs. grape juice, traditional vs contemporary, etc are secondary issues that men and women of good conscience can feel free to disagree on, but when people in the WoF continually misrepresent the nature and role of all three members of the Trinity and teach a false soteriology, that's bad.
In fact, it's worse than bad, it's dangerous. So dangerous that God warns us to have nothing to do with them.
That's why I don't think that Christians should have anything to do with the Word of Faith movement or with Carman.

Maybe you need to really check into the Bible (No offence, (I hope you do) but when you said earlier Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn say that we are already God's, You need to check that I'm a regular viewer and studier of the word, and all that preach on is that we are made In the IMAGE of God! Appreciate the perspective of the non-baptists, but this is Baptist-only. My comments on our local Carman concert last Sunday are in the "Free Concert" thread (won't bore any with repetition).
Imitation of the world's style and showmanship is not what Jesus did, or the apostles. It is not what I do when preaching in church. Why do we let the smoke and lights and bells and whistles go with "concerts"?

Because concerts are concerts, not a church service.
While ministry may be a pleasant by-product, they're basically entertainment.
Besides, with all of the goofy false doctrines that are promoted at Carman's shows, I don't think lasers and smoke machines are really his biggest problem.
