Recent deaths: Pride, Williams, Yeager

We are sad to see them go, but death is unavoidable. I have thought about what might be said about me if I died at various stages in my life. If I had died 30 years ago the prevailing thought might have been "How tragic. He still had kids who depended on him."
Today, if I die, the thought might be "Oh, too bad. Well at least he saw his two sons grow up and got to meet his grand kids."
15 or 20 years from now, if I die..."Oh how wonderful. He lived to a ripe old age. By God's good grace, maybe I will be so fortunate."

I liked all three of those guys. Each one of them was like the ole Hoosier farmer in the Wabash River valley of whom it was said that he was out standing in his field.
