Recent Polls on Support for President Trump Among Self-Identified Christians

First thing you realize is unfavorable polls will be violently contested. That's how many deal with cognitive dissonance; rejecting parts of new information to nurse their brain pain.

Trump is openly abusive body shaming women and calling his competitors all sorts of name. His lifestyle is clearly unchristian from buying prostitutes' silence to making sexist remarks.

I think this is what makes white evangelicals conflicted. The man who is supposed to represent their pet values is at odds with Christianity. Some even call him Cyrus, a heathen used by God to bring about his will. That's how they accommodate his excesses

Ah, rich white women in the suburbs do not care about abortion or Christianity. They are materialists and they do not like anyone who rocks the boat.

The Newsweek poll is probably trash as Newsweek is all but out of business. As for Pew, I am not sure how reliable they are anymore. Biden has been given the mantle of Obama and no one can say anything about Obama without being guilty of institutionalized racism. Biden may be a pervert but that is better than having been a playboy like Trump who is now married to one of the most beautiful women in the world, which does not appeal to the Karens of America, n'est-ce pas?

Many evangelicals today care more about "looking right" and "feeling right", than actually believing and doing what's right according to God. I can barely talk to a single evangelical below 30, because they don't believe God's word is fully authoritative for life today. Most are in public schools their entire life being taught whatever the culture deems as right. And then there are many Christian universities teaching truth as "relative" or "gray" (aka, post modernism), and it confuses people into a lifeless, lawless, and philosophical form of religion. From that a person gloms onto whatever cultural movement or wave of thought is popular to feel good about themselves, and you get your modern liberal evangelical.
I see them as completely rejecting any form of organized religion.

Well, it was off of Eastwood’s FB page. Now I don’t do FB, but maybe you could provide the details on that. If it’s on his page, maybe he wants folks to read it, heh?

If you don't do Facebook, how do you know it's on Clint's page?

The key is "self identified christians." What exactly is that?

That was my wording. The article breaks down groups into categories like Evangelical Protestant, Roman Catholic, Mainline, etc. It's a short article, worth a quick read. It even looks at things like Evangelical Protestant in areas hard hit by COVID-19.

I refuse to participate in any of these polls, so I KNOW that many results are off by a minimum of 1; and I suspect that there are scads more of my ilk.
Also, I strongly suspect that many just give any answer just to get the poller to move on to the next sheep.:Rolleyes

...Trump is openly abusive body shaming...

This is hilarious. I can't recall a President in history more body and looks shamed than Trump.

As usual, the very thing leftists accuse Trump of, they're doing themselves.

Yeah, I get most of these, complete with the counties that voted at over 100%, but what’s up with the Mississippi/Arkansas blue vote? Is that the black vote that she pandered to with her fake southern drawl?
She won the fifth district in Mississippi. That is a gerrymandered district drawn to be majority black. It includes parts of Jackson proper and the Delta. The delta is an economically depressed area because of the mechanization of farming. A large number of citizens left there are below poverty. The rest of the district is Jackson. A city where everyone who can afford to has moved to the suburbs. What you see as Democratic in Mississippi are the areas where the majority of people left are those who are too poor to leave.

Trump is the president and the 'leftists' are not. Common sense
