Red Crystal symbol instead of red cross?

Here is an article from bbc that they are trying to get the red crystal to be recognized like the red cross. What do you think?

As to the OP, the symbol I see is a square, not a crystal; unless this is a Brit term.

Also the "RED CROSS" is not the same cross of the Christian faith, so why should that be a problem anyway?????? Unless some people are just naturally offendible. (Which just may be the case with subject group.)

As far as crosses its just more evidence that society wants to pull away from all things christian. Even symbolism.
