That was not the way the invasion of Iraq was sold to us. If it had been sold without the deception of claiming that WMDs were there, then the American people would never have gone along with what has turned out to be one of the worst debacles in U.S history.

Well, your defense of old Iraq is right in line with oil companies subsidizing muslim nations.

And your defense of the Bush administration is right in line with the leading neocons who put their own agenda ahead of what is best for the United States.

How would someone who never sacrificed one day of his life for America know what is best for the United States?

Evidently I have a better grasp of what is best for the United States than you do since the neocons obviously have you in their hip pocket, saturnneptune.

    So there.

No so here. I have dealt with people like you for years. They can be spotted miles away. You put your flags on your cars as you race down the interstate, sing "God Bless America" and never lifted a finger or served a day for this nation, and sure never served in combat. So yes, I would bet a month of pay you have no idea what is best for the United States. All you know is cheering people on or criticizing those who give there lives so you can line your pockets with money off the backs of the American people.

And if you had your way thousands of America's finest would die in more unwise wars in Iran, Syria, and no telling where else, saturnneptune.

Oh you mean while your company is doing business with them and keeping the regimes going while they oppress their people?

Stop posting falsehoods since there is no way you know from whom my company purchases crude oil.

    Ken,

There were once WMD's because saddam used them. Period... Indisputable...

As to whether they were still available and stockpiled before the invasion we had no way of knowing for sure...

The fact that he *did* have them at one time...

And, still had the researchers on staff to continue to handle and develope them...

Lends credence to the fear that he still had them and was making more deadly forms of them...

There were some sattelite phot0s of convoys going into Syria as the invasion began...

    They sure weren't refugees...

They *could* have been stockpiles of wmd's to be saved for saddams restoration to power....

We are still finding securely hidden underground bunkers and stroage facilities...

So, niether you nor I can say for absolute certainty that there were or were not any wmd's in Iraq or still in Iraq...

But, given all the saber rattling saddam was doing, given then the general lack of hard people intelligence I do not think we had any choice but to take saddam at his word and believe the worst of the meetings that are documented to have taken place with terrorists...

I favored the idea of going into Afghanistan because the Taliban aided and abetted Bin Laden, and in Hindsight it is a pity that we did not deal with that situation sooner, still there were reasons for and against.

Saddam and in particular his son Uday were cruel heinous dictators and Iraq is alot better off without them. It is important to recognise the war in Iraq is being waged currently by foreign muslim fighters who are there to kill other muslims.

What I do wonder though is where we would be now if we had of skipped Iraq until we had captured Bin Laden? Consider all the resources used in the Iraq war so far. Would we have captured Bin Laden by now, if we used those resources to go into the Pakistan Mountains where he is believed to be hiding? The Pakistan army cannot even go in there as the warlords there pick them off with relative ease.

There is a good case that Bin Laden could also be in Somalia.

Which would be the better outcome for the west, Saddam gone in Iraq and peace there, or Bin Laden and the leadership of alqueda captured or eliminated?

Off topic of WMDs, but the neocon, Bill Kristol's comments about illegal immigration blew me out the door when I heard him on cable news. He is so far gone to the right, he's past 180 degrees. Which means he's left on the issue of illegal aliens.

Bush denied he's used cocaine since (date varies).

I guess that really says it all.

    Greetings Bro. Curtis,

The last I heard, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are "former" heroin users.

Would that also go for "former" oxycontin abusers or "former" alcoholics?

    Regards,
    BiR (heading to Kansas City)
