Not exactly - it is a dialectal pronunciation of Saint Nicholas, (15 March 270 – 6 December 343)

and get this: In addition, some Baptist, Methodist,[Presbyterian, and churches have been named in honor of Saint Nicholas

HELP! I'm bleeding internally!! (laughing so hard I busted gut)

IMPO (In my Puritan Opinon), The only man a church should be named in Honor of is Jesus of Nazereth. Secondly, are you really suggesting that you would attend a church name Santa Clause Baptist?? I'd quess they'd call the Preacher "Reverend" there. gagagagag (best Popeye voice)

O' my somebody hit 911!! :BangHead:

It is interesting to watch the results of the poll so far.

It's a real shot of reality to see that those that say they are celebrating the birth of Christ and not Modern day Coca Cola Red Coated Sleigh Ridin Santa would not be in support of a week or so without the "commercialization" attached to truly celebrate via worship the birth of the Saviour.

I guess my next poll will be if you voted No on this poll, to a such a period set apart, solely for celebration of Jesus' birth by singing and worship; WHY? but, we all know why now don't we. ;)

There's a Santa Claus United Methodist Church in Santa Claus Indiana. Couldn't find a listing for a Santa Claus Baptist however.

How much "support" do you think would be had if there were a "grass roots movement" among "Christians" which included 95 or so biblical reasons nailed, here, to the BB forum "door", not to "blend" the "celebration of the birth of Christ" and the fables of Santa Clause and trappings as is currently the case and known as "Christmas" here in the U.S.?

Moving the true "Birth of Jesus Celebration" to a week in a month more likely to have been the actual month of His birth, let's say the Ninth Month and say the 25th day of that month.

I would be curious what those 95 Biblical reasons were.

Do you figure you will gain God's favor by changing the date Christians celebrate the saviors birth?

That would have been Rosh Hashana (Jewish new year) this year, so that's not gonna work.

So the whole point of this thread was to poke your finger in the eye of anyone that disagrees with you?

Very adult like huh?

More important things to do than to do this........

'preciate you stopping in long enough to make this comment. Now I assume you are leaving to continue on your thread in games "List a word that starts with O"; I know that is important or perhaps you need to brush up on the comments you made in your thread "White people get on my nerves". Both seem quite important. toot ta loo sweetie.

:love2:

Yehovah, loves me no more or no less regardless . You see I am in Christ.

Why not, Most of Jewish heritage don't accept Jesus as the Christ. I don't see a problem.

The list to arrive soon. But the number has been bartered down to 10. But wouldn't 1 reason not to blend the celebration of Christ' birth with Elves and reindeer games be enough?

yep, the world in which we live is mostly spectator.. Jesus walked the earth and the records add up only about 250 or so that "followed" to the end. Most followed for the food and miracles.

Not at all. The obvious point in taking a poll is to see which box each person is in. I wanted to see the content of the both boxes.

Many say they are celebrating Christ birth and not Santa Clause. So why would any God fearing, Christ honoring disciple object to separating the two when the one takes attention away from Christ. Obviously they are diametrically opposed. The logical fix is to move one or the other.

ITL would settle for 10. Not I. You said 95. I want you to provide the 95 that you said that you would.

I think that you are painted into a corner and trying to argue and insult your way out.

If you are counting that as number one, then chapter/verse please. After all, you did say Biblical reasons in your OP.

Could be that T Alans real name is Abraham - just as good old Abram chewed God down from 50 righteous to just 5 - (Gen 18)
