No Roger, this is all for nothing... It's Grandstanding at it's best. We all know Obama is POTUS, but I guess some people just won't let it go. When the ones of us that didn't vote for him or like him respects the office too much to think they would let ANYONE not qualified in the running with all the vetting process he had to go through.

Let's waste more tax dollars, let's put our military at risk and continue to spin our wheels all for nothing..

Obama would produce a gold plated BC and even that wouldn't help some people. They need a place to vent and this happens to be it.

If these "soliders" were really wanting to take a stand, I would like to see them stay and defy the orders to come home, but we know that won't happen and this group of people that won't accept Obama as POTUS will have all kinds of reasons why they shouldn't do that very thing...

It's not that simple... You can't make that statement and hold it as true, or anyone in the military could come and go as they please. It made have been voluntarily for them to sign up, but when they signed on the dotted line they lost they right to stay or go as they see fit.

Refuse a direct order from any superior officer, and the Commander In Chief is about as superior as you can go, and bad things will happen to you. It makes not a whit of difference whether you agree with the order or not.

I am in agreement with the sentiment of this thread. Nobody in the military has the right to question the Commander In Chief. Volunteer service or not.

I will say, on the other hand, that when generals started turning against the war in Iraq, some on the left held them up as heroes. So there is some inconsistency on their part.

Not being 'on the left' I don't know about that, but if this had happened to Pres Bush in question of the 2000 Supreme Court ruling on Florida these guys would not be seen as heroes.

I am curious, are you saying that a general must agree with the order or the policy from which the order came. I agree they must obey it or suffer the consequences.

What you refuse to consider is that the loyalty of these soldiers is to a higher power than the President—the Constitution. Your saying that the matter is settled or trivial doesn't make it so. Civil wars and coup d'etats were initiated over lesser things.

If you don't consider Obama's actions concerning this matter are in the least suspicious, you don't possess the discernment required to be commenting on it.

Being a volunteer army has nothing to do with it. These soldiers take the same oath as soldiers that are drafted. If they refuse to obey orders they are in trouble.
