Religious Fanatic

I am not to the first definition provided. However, I am to the second definition as an of course.

The first definition says that those who are religious hypocrites who use violence and persecution to enforce their views are religious fanatics. I can agree to that as a lowest common denominator definition.

The second definition is typical anti-biblical nonsense we are used to from Western culture by now, depressingly given their eternal torment to come if they do not repent.

I clicked the link and then saw that it was the Urban dictionary. That website is more for fun than any real knowledge. Anyone can add a definition, and even make up words and as a definition for them.

Many years ago I added my own definitions of some gaming terms.

The only thing that dictates which terms you see first in a search are how many upvotes a definition received.

Do you consider yourself a religious fanatic?

Do you agree with the definition of a religious fanatic on this web page?
Another term fitting this definition is hypocrite. A recent book also called this type of a person a Christian Atheist.

"Someone who takes a perfectly good creed and assumes that because they pretend to follow it, they are allowed to do anything they want even if they don't really follow the creed at all. Usually insisting that if others do not follow their ways, they will be damned."

Sappy is spot on, I also have added a few terms over the years, but last time I tried to do it they wanted a log in (google or something) that I didn't want to provide so I never bothered to add a couple of other terms I was meaning to put in.

I remember doing CINO and some other term years ago.

One can be a sports fanatic and a Bible fanatic on the same day--especially Super Bowl Sunday. We seem to have difficulty with colesiums and temples. There is an interesting treatise from early church writers(uninspired of course): see DeSpectaculis, by Tertullian, circa 197. He had human nature and the games in an interesting perspective.

I probably would be called a fanatic about "what really happened?"

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I consider myself a Christian Radical in the sense of David Platt's book (all-in for my faith):

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream
