Not a landslide but maybe a peek into what the November elections may produce, dissatisfaction with Obamacare.

Wooooooooooooooooooooo.

Not a landslide but maybe a peek into what the November elections may produce, dissatisfaction with Obamacare.

The democrat candidate, Sink, carried that district in here close loss to Scott in the Governors race in 2010! And even Billy was down there campaigning for her but no Obama!

With nearly 100 percent of the vote counted, Jolly had 48.5 percent of the vote to Sink's 46.7 percent. Libertarian Lucas Overby had 4.8 percent.
That Libertarian total bothers me. That's quite a jump for that district vs. the 2012 election. This means a lot of dissatisfied Republicans and more Independents voted libertarian this time.

While I understand their frustration, but that voting strategy is going to do two things:
  • It will attract the attention of unscrupulous Democrats who will now attempt to fund Libertarian candidates across the nation this November
  • That in turn will result in more conservative and right-leaning moderates to vote for the Libertarian candidate
The result will be the Democrats remaining in power in the Senate, and it may even erode the Republican base in the House. Libertarians can't be elected as Libertarians. They can only act as spoilers for the Republican candidates, thus keeping the status quo.

This is not at all what those voters want, it certainly isn't what conservative Republicans want, and it will continue the "death slide" into oblivion that the United States is bound to suffer.

This is not good. It is not good at all.

Of course he'll have to win the nomination, but he'll run as Republican Tea Party candidate.

Of course he'll run Republican ...
The Libertarians will cost the Republicans a chance to reverse the severe damage this Little Marxist Dictator and his cronies have done to this country. If Libertarians insist on being Libertarian, we're doomed. If, on the other hand, they want to live in the real world and coalesce behind one candidate with the rest of the conservatives, we might actually bring this rush to socialism to a screeching halt.

And Paul ain't the guy to do that. We need somebody who is a true fiscal conservative like he is, but who won't just pay lip service to defense and social issues like he does. As does his dad.

Ah, Rand Paul's just what we need, he's got my vote already as far as he makes it, just like his dad did.

Ahhhhhh.......don't bet on it.

Talking to a recovered (by the grace of God) disordered gambler, remember?

Don't have to bet on it anyway. Last night's election results in Florida proved the very danger I'm talking about. Give Jolly that 4.8% that went to Overby, the Libertarian, and he wins in a laugher with over 54% of the vote. Instead, it was uncomfortably close, and that's what I fear will happen with a fractured conservative vote in November.

Voting for minority parties that don't have a snowball's chance in a barbeque is a wasted vote, and it is gravy for the Demo-Marxists.

They will insist on being Libertarians!

he is not as radical as his father so he will do better but he will have to modify his Libertarian extremism to win the Republican nomination. he will do much better to tie himself to the "tea party" political philosophy!

Yes, this is a danger. I've seen it cause Republican candidates to lose in Minnesota.

It worked against them in Florida in 2000. Had the people that voted for Nader voted for Gore instead, Gore would have won the presidency. Democrats have learned that lesson; Republicans haven't. You rarely see Democrats not united come election day. That's why they are better at this game than the Reps.

The Republican Party is not called the Stupid Party without cause! Consider:

Mitch McConnell on beating tea party: ‘We are going to crush them’

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell vowed any tea party candidates challenging establishment Republicans in the 2014 midterm elections would not just fail — but fail miserably.

“I think we are going to crush them everywhere,” he said, The New York Times reported, “I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”

Mr. McConnell faces concerted challenge himself, most notably from a Kentuckian named Matt Bevin, a businessman who’s branded himself a true conservative, The Blaze reported.

“Mitch McConnell is clearly in trouble in his primary, or he wouldn’t be attacking Matt Bevin and declaring war on conservatives,” the Senate Conservatives Fund’s Matt Hoskins told The New York Times.

Mitch has a surprise coming in the primary, I think. Time he retired, anyway. But that's within the party. I'm more concerned about conservatives voting "on principle" for someone who has no chance whatsoever to do anything but steal votes from someone who is also conservative and has a chance to win, even unseat a Democrat.

That party is going to repeat the same tactics they used in 2012 and help fund Libertarian candidates so as to draw votes off from someone who can actually help drive the metaphorical stake in the Demo-Marxist heart.

Why is it us that has to yield ? If the Republicans put up a conservative candidate I would vote for them.

TNID, you usually have some good stuff to say, but the sorry state of the GOP is not the Libertarians fault. I can't vote for a party that keeps selling me out.

And you can't keep the Demo-Marxists from changing the very heart and soul of this country if you vote for people who can't win. So find people you can support who can be elected, whatever their party, and organize, support, promote, and get them elected.

Voting for underfunded, unknown, hopeless candidates simply because "they aren't that guy" -- even in "protest" of the chicanery of people who call themselves "conservative Republicans" -- assures the destruction of this country. We can't split our votes up and let the idiot socialists continue to be reelected.
