Rescued Kitten

I recently had a young, sickly kitten show up at my place. The thing was so sickly that my wife, who has a heart for small creatures, said that I should euthanize it. I was going to do just that, but when I placed it on the ground and stepped back, it ran to my feet.
Well, we gave it some meds and bottle fed it for a couple of weeks. It went straight from the bottle to eating dry cat food. We also had given it two worm treatments then found a lady who wanted it. She said that her 13 year old cat had died and she wanted another cat.
Finding a home for a kitten is tough because kittens are everywhere where we live. People usually laugh when asked if they want a kitten. It's like "You aren't serious, are you?"IMG_20220506_080830__01.jpg

...ya big softie... :D

Good story with a good outcome.

A few years ago before we got the Anatolians I attempted to trap a huge coyote I'd seen out back using a jumbo sized cage trap. Didn't catch the coyote but caught like half dozen feral cats in two weeks; had no idea there were so many way out here where we are. They're thick.

I’m severely allergic to cats.
But they seem to have a strange attraction to me.
If we visit and there is a cat in the house, it usually end up sitting on my lap.

My cat sleeps by the fireside.
My loving wife got it for me
… it’s stuffed.

You know, wearing a blanket made from cats is a cure for rheumatism (old myth....I think from Chinese medicine but I heard about it in Europe).

It’s because they instinctively know who has cat allergies and seek them out.

They have weekly meetings to brag about who sneezed the most, or better yet, who broke out in rashes.

peace to you

I'm a cat lover, but I can tolerate only so many cats. We have 3 adult cats right now, and I don't care to have any more.

Are your Anatolians good with cats?

OUR cats only (actually to them it's THEIR cats). They've treed what I'm presuming to be feral cats several times, not aware of any they've stretched yet.
We have a herd of feral cats living in an abandoned house across the street. I got bit trying to help one, split my finger nail to the bone.

Good news, rabies shots are no longer in the stomach, they put them in the buttocks.

Bad news, the number of shots is based on weight. I ended up with 13 total shots. Very painful, very thick.

peace to you

My cat will wait until I get a phone call to jump into my lap and start nudging my hands with her head.

I wonder if she’s trying to protect me from harmful radiation? Or just can’t stand the sound of a voice coming out of the phone and it bothers her?

peace to you

I thought about that, but why wait for the phone to ring? A lot of times I won’t even know she’s close. Phone rings, cat in lap nudging my hands. Kind of funny, the folks on the other end get to hear me barely say hello and then telling the cat, “stop that..” and so in. I then explain my cat wants to talk to them.

Thanks for the comment

peace to you
