Scattered throughout God's Word you'll find references about making restitution among individuals.
This can be (& probably is!) a rather touchy concept, however, it's there in Holy Writ---usually connected with forgiveness.
Especially in the OT, you'll find read passages that deal with some sort of property damage the idea of "a fifth" (20%) over the assessed value of said property appearing to be what the LORD required back in those days.
This side of The Cross, it's not always so specific.
So......should we be expected to compensate anyone a net total of 120% of the assessed value of something we damaged (whether intentional or not)?
